Performance wise the game runs smoother now than it ever has, between updates and shifting to the latest Radeon drivers I'm now getting 112fps on the ship and around 75-90 in game, where previously it had been around 102 and 70-80 respectively.

+1 for the 7800X3D. If you're not doing anything other than gaming and general usage it's the best option. If doing some productivity stuff then the 14700K is a great all rounder, but it has no real upgrade path.
