Adapter Bad. Cable Good, though I would check the Cablemod website to confirm your model of PSU is defiantly covered and avoid any unnecessary PSU bangs.

When a Graphics card costs twice as much, or more, as the rest of your build, it definitely costs to much.

True but that hardcore base is small with most buying Nvidia because they are still able afford to do so, just. Even for the hardcore Nvidia fans there will come a point where the price just becomes to high and will look elsewhere.

Intel have a way to go but it cannot be denied, on the drivers side, they are steadily improving and making ARC better on each driver release. In many ways the hardware is the easy part for GPUs, it's the software that is the hard part.

Are Nvidia trying to price themselves out of the market? At the rate Nvidia are raising prices it will be a case of just buying the card that gets the job done, at an affordable price, which should be Intel or AMD, and Intel looks to be the the increasingly better bet.

Hope the power requirements are not to much, if more than two 5090s are bought UK may need a new Nuclear Power Station built to handle the load.

Upgrade DDR4 Motherboard to DDR5 Motherboard or not?

I bought a MSI Z690 Tomahawk DDR4 motherboard when I built my new system 2 years a go, as DDR5 was ridiculously expensive at the time, and got a good deal on the Tomahawk motherboard but I am thinking of moving over to DDR5. I have found the, MSI MEG Z690 UNIFY, for £225, and was thinking of...

It's the minimum recommended but best to have 850W, as a minimum, though it does depend on your other components. I would try using one of the PSU calculators that Seasonic, Be Quiet, and others have on there sites to give you an idea on you overall power usage.

The 4090 is the card everyone would like, but the 4070 to 4080 are the cards that most of us actually need. The 4090 is really for the best 4K experience, abut 4K gamers make up a very small percentage of gamers, 2% on the last Steam Survey, with 1440p growing, though 1080p is still by far the...

You make a good point but here are Pros and Cons for waiting or not waiting. Everyone has there own preferences, mine is to wait, as I do not see the RTX 4000 series as the best Value, this generation, and take the chance that the RTX 5000 series has major performance improvements and available...

I would wait, if spending £1500 plus on a graphics card that many say is already obsolete, debatable, but will definitely be obsolete in the next 8-9 months, so not even a full year of having the "best card". If its a case of you have to buy a Graphics card, say due to a fault, then consider a...
