    Unknown issue causing constant reboots.

This is going to be a long one as I have tried so many things and this has been going on for over a month. It first started on my previous setup: i9 9900k, Maximus XI Formula, 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro, Asus RTX 2080, custom watercooled, 1tb 970 evo Pro m.2, ax1200i psu, seagate 4 tb backup...

    Anyone with custom cable knowledge.

Hey guys, In a bit of a pickle. I recently done a full system upgrade and am wanting to redo all the main cables for it (24 pin, 8 pin pcie & 8 pin EPS). I did make all cables for my previous build so I have some knowledge. Mu psu is the Corsair AX1200i and the issue I'm having right now is...

HP Laptop connecting badly to Sharp 60" TV

Lf some help for my mum. She has an HP Laptop-15 db0xxx and she wants to connect it to her 60" Sharp LC-60LE741E TV so she can play games on a larger screen. Whenever she tries to load certain games, a thick black line appears on the screen and will roll upwards very slowly and then reappear...

    Custom made cables

Another thing that is really baffling me is that I have the original pcie cable that came with the psu and I tested the voltages on it. The 2 pin showed as 12.09v and bottom 3 of the 6 showed as 12.09v. I have my 2 pin connected in the same place as the original (pin 8) and when tested, was also...

    Custom made cables

Thanks See one thing I'm confused about is the pinout I have doesnt seem to match the readings I'm getting unless they are correct. I have a corsair ax1200i and the pinout suggests that top 4 pins are ground and bottom 4 are 12v. Another pinout shows that the split cable (single end) should be...

    Custom made cables

Why shouldn't I be doing this? I'm not stupid enough to test my main system with dodgy cables. I have an old setup I use for testing. I could source the cables easily but I am wanting custom made so I can improve cable management for starters. Yh I could also get them custom made for me but it...

    Custom made cables

Hey guys, not sure if posted in right place but here goes. I've recently started making my own custom cables and successfully made the 24-pin and it works. I'm having lots of trouble with the 8-pin PCI-e cables though. I've followed the pinout I managed to download and also created the split...

    Strix 1060 VRM plate

I saw that video too but like I said, I don't remember seeing or removing any kind of plate from the card which is what's making me believe that it could be just on the oc edition as mine wasn't oc Whenever I've stripped a card to watercool, I ensure all screws are screwed into the stock cooler...

    Strix 1060 VRM plate

I was thinking that but the guy showed me a video of someone stripping a 1060 and it showed a cooling plate

    Strix 1060 VRM plate

I had an Asus Strix 1060 GPU and recently sold it. I had previously watercooled it and don't recall removing any metal plate that covered the VRM. The person I sold it to is now stating that it is missing and I need to find it. I'm wondering if it was the OC edition that had this cooling plate...

    Custom Cable testing

Just managed to test the cable and after an initial output of 13.7 on the -12v rail and realising the corresponding pin wasn't fully inserted I know have the following results: https://imgur.com/a/hPFGaRO Seems ok to me

Thanks for the replies. I actually bought both of those items and am hoping to test them out tomorrow to see what happens

    Custom Cable testing

Thanks for your response Zefan. I have hundreds of tools for various different reasons, but not a multimeter :D Think I'll order one for delivery tomorrow. When you say continuity test, do you mean say checking pin 1 on the 24 pin connector end to pin 1 on the 14 pin connector?

    Custom Cable testing

Looking for some advice on new custom cables I've just made. I have been watching tutorials via Singularity Computers on YouTube on how to make custom cables and have just completed a 24 pin atx cable. i'm wanting to know the best way for me to test this cable before putting it into my system...

    ASUS Turbo RTX 2070 performance

What do you guys reckon I should be expecting out of this card, performance wise, when it comes to gaming? Currently I'm playing AC Origins on high settings at 3840x2160 and I'm hitting around 52fps and temp sitting at 76 after slightly altering the fan curve as was originally 83. Does this...
