Upgrade for Tp Link Homeplug AV1200

I gave up with mine and ran ethernet, similar stuff to Armageus posted above. Much better.

    City Fibre

Been up and running for a few days now, nice improvement over Virgin (100/10), went with Zen (500/500). The install was ok. Zen gave us a date as soon as we paid online, a FRITZ!box turned up a couple of days later. The CityFibre engineers turned up on that date and informed us the cabinet...

    Chancel Liability

This. We have it and don't expect it to ever be of any use, but in the grand scheme of things it was a tiny cost (which probably reflects how unlikely it is to be needed).

Thank a lot for the input, sounds like I'm on the right track then. I was only going to add the additional AP for upstairs as the UDM itself is an AP. But could go for an LR and turn off the AP in the UDM if that's likely to be better. Or just get the LR and see if UDM on or off works best...

    Power line Networks

I've got a pair i've been meaning to move on, TP Link ones with passthrough power sockets on. They didn't work reliably over a longer period in my house (60's with various additions to the wiring, across two floors) but when they worked the connection was decent.

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

Hi all, looking back it's about 2 years since I got the UDM (non pro) and broadly speaking I've been super happy. It's worked reliably without any of the flakiness we saw with the VM Super Hub (2 I think). I'm looking to extend a bit and was hoping for some advice please. At the moment we just...

    City Fibre

They are currently cabling our town for it, will likely move form Virgin once it's available. I hadn't realised Zen were offering it now too, when I first looked I think it was only Vodafone.

    Used family car conundrum. Advice?

Skoda Octavia? The 1.4 / 1.5 petrol engines are nice and they have bags of room. Getting something with more space that the missus would be happy driving was a key goal when purchasing, she's only 5 foot tall and was coming from a Punto and she really liked it. We went manual though, I wasn't...

    Cheap projector suggestions

Crikey, I missed that. I'm sure that's the model number I saw suggested but maybe it was a similar one.

    Cheap projector suggestions

Lucid is obviously far more knowledgeable than me on this subject so I hope he chimes in on that. That said from what I was looking at the Epson EB-S41 at around £300 seemed to be the next rung up from the £100-£200 projectors on Amazon. It has the 3xLCD Lucid mentions I believe.

    Cheap projector suggestions

I'm interested in this too, for me it would be for occasional use in the bedroom where we don't have/want a TV. Reviews on Amazon seem to show people generally happy with their £100 ("HD") - £200 ("1080p") ish projectors but who knows.

I need to do this. Been paying that or I think maybe even more for 100 for donkeys.

    Decking stain vs. Oil

Oil for me too. I’ve found Screwfix own brand to be good. I used some pine tinted oil last time, clear before. The clear does bring out some nice natural colour in the wood.

First bike for daughters birthday - ideas

We bought our eldest an Isla Bike when he was 2: https://www.islabikes.co.uk/product/bikes/rothan/ Really impressed with it, super lightweight and well made. We'll probably get him another now he's bigger, tbh he'd probably already have some sort of pedal bike if it wasn't for lockdown, I...

    Cleaning Samsung tv

We've wiped a couple of fingerprint smudges off our new Q85R with a slightly moist microfibre. Did take a bit of wiping. Wipe moist and then wipe dry.

    Samsung TV's - Q60,70,80,85,90 which one?

I've got an Apple TV 4k so not had the need to try the Apple TV app available for the Samsung yet, is there something in particular you would use it for? (Maybe a dumb question, I think mainly it's for viewing iTunes purchased/rented movies right?)

    Samsung TV's - Q60,70,80,85,90 which one?

For me it came down to burn in putting me off OLED. If it was just me watching I'd probably have gone with it, but having young kids I can just see it being problematic. They do look good though, and would otherwise have been the obvious upgrade for me coming from an old Panasonic Plasma.

    Samsung TV's - Q60,70,80,85,90 which one?

That plus the One Connect box is my understanding, yes. The difference for me, looking now, for a 55" seems to be £100. 80 is £899 (£999 - £100), versus the 85 at £999 (£1199 - £200).

    Samsung TV's - Q60,70,80,85,90 which one?

No longer kicking myself, just picked one up a 55" Q85r for £999 from RS (via a £200 coupon). Same price on JL.

    Samsung TV's - Q60,70,80,85,90 which one?

Kicking myself for not picking up a 55Q85R when they were <£1000 recently. Seemed like as soon as Amazon sold their last one everyone's prices shot back up. Our ~9 year old Panasonic Plasma is turning itself on and off occasionally so maybe due a new set soon, had been doing a little research.
