It's deffo not a long-term place for us either. Hopefully 6 years or so here buys us a house and rental in the UK, and helps us avoid eye-watering childcare costs of incoming children in the next year or so. We're hoping by early 40s to be mortgage-free with decent passive income. Short term...
Healthily in the 100k+ bracket (GBP), but working in the UAE so not sure it really counts.
Approaching the 200k income for household if I include my fiance.
I went to a theme park for a work trip with one colleague who also happens to be one of my best friends, for a consultation project we were offering help on. We finished the day early and proceeded to have a great afternoon! I don't see why going on your own should be seen as odd - you're only...
I earn 35k a year and have bugger all in my account, living pay cheque to pay cheque. 18 year old car. Zero debt/loans/credit card owed. Zero things on finance. No TV packages. 3 year old bog standard phone. VERY frugal with elec and gas usage. Never eat out/get takeaways. Batch cook and only...
Fought my way into the loft, and opened up previously sealed, and vast voids, above my pitched roof dormers. Found ZERO loft insulation, so figured out why it's so cold in the winter. Also removed a section of plasterboard in the upstairs bathroom to reveal the eaves and void. Also zero...
Immediate neighbour to my left...plugs and unplugs sockets in our joined wall quite possibly hundreds of times a day. And opens and closes drawers 10s of times each day, mostly in the evening. I hear every single one. I like to imagine she has an entire wall dedicated to plug sockets and drawers...
It's probably too late now, but you're actually supposed to stick the spankers inbteween two panels, so one spanker essentially 'joins' them together. You then use a board fixing silicone type material to seal them all in and splurge between any gaps. Your version will probably work fine though!
New house so various other jobs needed doing too (e.g replacing my entire porch roof, sofits, fascias and guttering), also separated from my partner of nearly 8 years, have a young child together so most weekends I'm with him, plus new girlfriend so free weekends very much gone! Also never done...
Got the shower screen installed today. Bit an a mare on my own but managed it. Plumb in shower tomorrow, then will be enjoying my first proper shower in 6 months. Slow progress but it's moving in the right direction!
Interesting reading so far, lots going on! Going to look ace when it's finished. Weirdly echoes lots of the work I'm doing in my bathroom. Started end of August and still going, just takes forever!
I've never posted mine but I impressed myself today. Was probably on the site for no more than 25 seconds. First word that came to mind with the right letters.

I've never understood this mentality. Feels quite playground-ish, but I guess it depends on personal circumstances and what you're looking for.
Personally, met my current partner on Tinder in November, she messaged first. We've messaged each other multiple times every single day since then, and...
Stay strong mate. Literally going through the same thing myself, 7.5 years. Almost 4 weeks in. Also not seen my son in that time.
Remember to feel what you feel, but don't dwell on it for too long. Get active. Make loads of plans with family and friends. Do things that make you feel good. And...
Fuel light came on yesterday driving home from work. I'm a 'put in only what I need' sort of driver, so was a bit pained to fill the car up. Without the car I can't get to work, like many people. So was the only option really!
Varied subject research depending on what project I'm working on
Some occasional creative thinking / theory research
Content writing / graphic design checks / architect drawing and plans review/amending
Manage and maintaining documentation (budgets, gantt charts, strategy planning etc)
Write and...
