    OCUK RTX4060TI review thread

You know what I'm the exact sort of person who is looking at RTX 4060ti. I was one of the lucky few to get an RTX 3060ti from the first batch that OCUK had in stock. I actually game @ 1920 x 1080 on an Acer G Sync monitor and use DLSS to upscale in most games titles. Tbh I was seriously...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

Crikey, the 8gb card is basically dead in the water then. Surely no one would buy that when the 16gb variant is allegedly due to release less than 3 months later....... Ok I need something explaining by one of you wizzards if possible I own a Pallit Dual RTX 3060ti and I've just noticed that...

Entry level Alder Lake: i5-12400 review, the new value king

Hi mate Actually I still game @ 1920 x 1080. I purchased an Acer G-Sync monitor when they burst on to the scene and I havent got round to replacing it yet lol I upscale most games to run at either 2880 x 1620 or 3840 x 2160. Combined with my new set up and my RTX 3060ti more or less every...

    A future proof CPU

Hi OP I've literally just upgraded from a Core i7 3770k + Gigabyte Z68 to a Core i5 12400f with MSI B660 MAG Tomahawk DDR4. Have to say now I hadnt realised just how much my gfx card was being held back by my i7 3770k. Also little things like downloading large files seem to take a lot less...

Entry level Alder Lake: i5-12400 review, the new value king

Wow! The i5 12400f temps are amazing! Paired with an Arctic Liquid Freezer 240 I'm seeming temps on all 6 cores anywhere between 16 - 22 degrees celsius at idle and its not going much past 40 degrees during an intensive gaming session. Its night and day difference compared to my old i7 3770k...

Entry level Alder Lake: i5-12400 review, the new value king

Thanks mate I'm really happy with it :) One thing I've noticed which if I'm being honest hadnt even thought about when upgrading is that downloading files is now considerably faster. I installed Resident Evil Village last night in almost half the time it would take my old i7 3770k combo :p

Just to want to say a big 'thank you' for everyone's replies on this thread chaps. I really appreciate it :p After many, many years of loyal service, my Core i7 3770k + Gigabyte z68 combo has officially been retired lol I've finally taken the plunge and upgraded to the following spec Core i5...

Entry level Alder Lake: i5-12400 review, the new value king

Thanks fella Hadnt even come across the i33 12100f so will look into that. I will definitely go for 32gb of ram, tbh I'm looking to build something that will last me a good 4-5 years. Not sure how much longer my current set up will last as I've had it since it was released lol. Any ideas on...

Entry level Alder Lake: i5-12400 review, the new value king

Thanks for the replies chaps I'm looking for a new motherboard, CPU & 32GB Ram at the moment as my current set up is pretty ancient and probably nearing end of life. My Core i7 3770k really struggles with latest titles such as Flight Sim 2020 hence a need for an upgrade. I tend to change my...

Entry level Alder Lake: i5-12400 review, the new value king

On another matter does anyone actually know when the 12400 will be available for sale? There is nothing mentioned on the OCUK website I missed out on purchasing a core i5 11400 & my trusty i7 3770k has seen better days tbh

Best graphics card match for a 4790k?

Hi OP I was in the same dilemma as yourself last year. I'd held on to my Palit GTX980 for well over 5 years and tbh it was starting to show its age on the latest titles. I game with a G-Sync monitor at 1920 x 1080 so the higher the frame rate for me the better. I took the plunge and was lucky...

    Aliens Fireteam

Lets be honest Aliens Colonial Marines on release for PC was an absolute mess. Single player campaign looked and played terrible and the multiplayer wasnt a great deal better. TBF Gearbox did patch the title and from memory the first big patch introduced bug hunt to multiplayer which I wasted...
