    They way prices on SSD are going, the only place I can see these have any useful like is in Windows laptops where storage requirements are fairly large and can not be satisfied using USB storage.

    Go for the best SSD you can afford, allow for a a USB / SATA converter if you are not confident hacking about inside the case. If yoor SSD comes with clone.migration software, great, but there are super free software out there, some already mentioned in this tread.
