I have a case with a front panel USB C, was looking at getting a b550 to future proof, but none of the cheaper ones seem to have an internal USB C header. Is it possible to adapt a standard header, or is that insane?

Honestly, it will be fine. The 3600 is at a really good price/power ratio especially for gaming.

You'd only get a tiny increase from a much more expensive CPU. Wouldn't worry about being bottlenecked.
Think I'm going to do exactly the same. Keep the best games and can hopefully enjoy them backwards compat on the 5 while there isnt much early gen content.

Whats your strat? Go big now or get something cheap and wait it out. By the way you could seriously try the oven/baking thing. its a bit mad, but it kept my 7950 alive for another 2 years after it 'died'
