i have a foxconn am3 motherboard. i was planning on getting a phenom ii x4 965 and overclocking it however the bios is just terrible.
whats a decent low cost overclocking motherboard?
i was looking at the Gigabyte 970A-DS3 AMD 970A
what would be a better choice when building a new system?
obviously the i3 is slightly quicker in games at stock speed and has a good upgrade path
the fx 6300 can be overclocked
thanks for any advice
Thanks for the replies.
Whats the best way to remove thermal paste? Is it worth getting some cleaner or just wiping it with a cloth?
Im hoping its just a temperature issue. It only artifacts and crashes after about 30 seconds whilst playing videos and games but other then that its fine...
An unlocked core i3 would probably be the end for the current amd quads.
I hope that AMD's new cpus do give intel some competition. Im tired of hearing intel all the time.
Hello
Been having problems with an 8800gt.
Every time i play a video or a game, it crashes and the whole screen goes red whilst the sound goes into a loop.
The idle temperature is around 75c and under load is around 100c so im hoping that its a temperature issue.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks
Would you need any more voltage by doing this?
As to the original question, That build looks fine. If you are getting the shinobi, i would get an intake fan as this improves the airflow quite a lot.
i would go with the amd build. the pentium may be slightly better on the cpu side but the igp on the amd is much better.
Obviously, the amd will need more power and produce more heat but it will give better performance.
i would also reccomend spending a bit extra on the ram. You can get...
i would say the 7870 will be better in most cases. Crossfire and sli scale well in some games and others they dont.
What resolution do you play at?
once you start getting to 1080p i would imagine that the 1gb of memory both cards are sharing will show performance decrease.
