What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

Post an example of what you say otherwise it's just random words on a screen that don't mean anything, we need to see what you saw in order to determine if specsavers is necessary or yes indeed, your game looks last gen for some reason. But besides all that, something doesn't track with your...

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

Now I know you are talking rubbish or trolling, there is no genuine outlet or gaming community online that considers Cyberpunk looking like a last gen game, whether RT or PT or even raster, the game looks like one of the most next gen open world games there is. You don't have to take my word...

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

If it looked like a PS4 game even on RT Ultra then your PC is 100% broken! It's about as simple as that really. Just look at any of the recent screenshots posted in the screenshots thread or the Cyberpunk thread. Plenty of comparisons.

    *** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

You would be in the absolute minority then because it is widely accepted that the story and characters are excellent all round and in fact are the sole reason that Cyberpunk 2077 actually survived the disaster of a launch and the first year following launch.

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

You're accusing me/us of cope when seemingly the only cope seems to be coming from those who don't have a legitimate argument to make and have to resort to the "but we at least focus on the gameplay more" lol. That fish won't fly any more. Some of us who spend time looking at graphics also...

What do gamers actually think about Ray-Tracing?

Yes people got so used to screen space reflections that they basically don't even notice the problems with it, it's glaringly obvious how bad screen space is when you've been playing wiht RT reflections for any amount of time. Glaringly obvious in that reflections are accurate and don't vanish...

It will just be a better cooler, some faster clocks with GDDR7 memory increasing the memory bandwidth and different VRAM configuration with the 5080 now coming in with 18/21GB and the 90 class with more? And obviously with that comes more heat from the higher TDP.

Has RTX Changed The Way We Game?

SAM also can have a far greater negative impact based on its tendency to put more load on the CPU too going by posts on reddit in the AMD subs. ReBAR is more conservative, Nvidia whitelist more games here and there but you can easily enable it for every game using Profile Inspector and it might...

Has RTX Changed The Way We Game?

Yeah, the only difference from the higher than baseline *Sync from either is that the higher tiers support higher refresh rates and HDR certification. Gsync goes a few bits beyond that with Ultimate requiring a display to have a minimum support like 1000 nits etc. FreeSync FreeSync Premium...

Has RTX Changed The Way We Game?

FreeSync is basically open anyway, it complies with the Adaptive Sync standard for VRR displays, just like how every Gsync monitor works on non-Nvidia cards, every FreeSync display works on Nvidia cards as Gsync Compatible.

    *** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

On a 4080? That should not be possible unless you're at higher resolutions which means you will end up reaching the 16GB VRAM available. Have you checked VRAM use during gameplay? At 3440x1440 the game uses around +11-12GB of VRAM alone and that's with DLSS enabled - So if that is the case for...

Has RTX Changed The Way We Game?

AMD are tipped to be enabling AI acceleration for upscaling (and frame gen by proxy I guess), so yes when they do get round to doing that things will change. But, and this is the big bit, FSR will then no longer be open source like it is now since it's using proprietary hardware instructions...
