LG OLED C9 as a PC monitor - Yes, I'm crazy, Yes time to get some burn in.

Glad you're enjoying your new monitor @aoaaron. Sounds fantastic. OLEDs always look amazing. Saw a Panasonic OLED in Currys the other day and it was simply the best picture I have ever seen. Unfortunately it was over £4000. I'm loving my CRG9 as it's perfect for my sim racing use. Thanks for...

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

Got mine set up on the arm tonight. Looks amazing. Hard to appreciate how big it will be until you actually get it. I have one stuck pixel in the top right corner. Can only see it on white background so it won't bother me. Can't see any backlight bleed just looking at it in a dark room which is...

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

AMD GPU here so I should be fine. Will almost certainly have to turn down in game settings and probably resolution until I PC upgrade next year though.

    34GK950F

I don't mind a little glow, blb etc. I don't expect it to be perfect. My Dell U2713HM which I have just now has a little glow and blb which I don't notice during actual use. It was really just about whether the latest batches had an overall improvement in quality, since the early ones seemed...

    34GK950F

I noticed OcUK has had these in stock for a couple of weeks now. Anybody bought one of this latest batch? Have the issues previously reported improved? e.g. blb, glow Any new issues cropped up? I'll wait a bit for a price drop (Black Friday maybe?) since they don't seem to be instantly selling...

    I am so unlucky :(

The last Dell monitor I bought 6 years ago had a broken USB port. Dell were great and sent a new one out right away and told me to dispose of the old one myself since the delivery guy wouldn't take it away. I sold it on eBay for £250. I would buy Dell again if they made a monitor I wanted to buy.

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

Does this monitor even have a fan? I don't remember it being mentioned in any reviews. Can't tell from your post but have you tried different refresh rates and overdrive settings? Others have said you can't change overdrive with freesync on so you would have to make sure that was off first...

    I am so unlucky :(

Agree with all this. I'm buying a new monitor very soon and I should be excited and looking forward to it. Instead, I'm dreading it.

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

The trouble is none of the rest are any better quality wise. The other screen I was considering is the LG34K950F. If you read any user reviews about that they are just as bad. Dead pixels, backlight bleed, IPS glow and panels with whole sections just broken. Monitor manufacturers need a good...

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

It looks like it is local dimming since the bits with icons and text on them look worse i.e. those zones are on, others are off. Shouldn't this be done with a completely black screen? What camera settings did you use? I guess any screen will look like it has backlight bleed if you expose long...

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

Yeah, I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole. I'd be surprised if they even put it up for resale with a fault like that.

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

Lol, damn. The two pixel one was the one I was going to go for. It shouldn't be this difficult to get a good quality monitor when you're paying over £1000. Clearly LG and Samsung do very limited testing on these before they are shipped. I guess it's just cheaper for them to deal with the...

CRG 9 / new monitor clicking noise.. is it normal?

Long range diagnosis is always guess work but the clicking and smell suggest to me something is getting too warm. An IR spot meter or thermal camera would be useful but you would need a comparison point.

Thanks, didn't know that. Never bought used stuff of Amazon yet. I'll watch out for @aoaaron returned units for a bargain then.

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

That made no sense. You said, no chance of it being a return if it was sold as new and then said returns are processed and sold as new.
