When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Not seen any major fps drop so far but that is only playing satisfactory and temps are now 70-80 with the boost changes when playing whereas before it was getting to 100 at times and mostly 90+. The benchmark of shadow of the tomb raider had 85 average fps so very slightly better but it had a...

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

It was still getting hotter than i'd like so I went ahead and made a few changes after readding them to power settings. Not sure why you have to edit the registry and who is to blame for that. Seems game shift has to be on for the high performance plan to show up but seems to be ok now after the...

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Yeah thought it was something like that. I checked with dell because it was getting hot either way and with the testing they got me to do it was getting to around 95C in the stress test which is hot but within the operating range (max for this cpu is 105C). If I ever add a second drive I'll...

    £1000 Gaming Laptop.

Not done that but I might at some point. As well as dell using bad thermal paste I can see the other thing someone mentioned now. The screen partially blocks the rear exhausts which will add to the issues especially as there aren't any side ones.

    £1000 Gaming Laptop.

I'd say the dell wouldn't be suitable then. I have one and while it does run hot, I am not quite sure about the numbers so far. A lot of the numbers being reported may or may not be correct but I can say for certain it will be in the low 90s at times when playing even less demanding games. The...

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Tried the beta one and it was the same. There seems to be around a 9C difference whatever I am doing at least for max/min values. They get closer at times but are mostly 8-10 apart. Averages are fine, just the max seems to be a bit high and I've seen it go to 110 before for tctl/tdie. Whatever...

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Tried that and the 'core' temperature on Hwinfo64 is the same as alienware command centre. The 'tctl/die' temperature is what others were reading and they reported all cores as being that. So that solves the differences. Does tctl use an offset so it reports higher than it is? Or is it ok for it...

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Yeah it was. Seems likely to be true considering what I was getting when playing games. Not sure if to just return it considering how hot it seems to be. Just wondering if the command centre is under reading or the other ones over reading.

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

They seem to work for me but cpu ones give a higher number than alienware command centre. A number that is too high at times and went to like 110C once. Not tested enough to be sure but the gpu one seems to be the same. Edit: Seems msi afterburner doesn't work though. Wonder if the numbers...

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Shadow of the tomb raider was an average of 84 fps on high using the inbuilt benchmark and didn't drop below about 70 fps. Don't think I own any newer games to check but easily as good as I'll need. Edit: It definitely benefits from a laptop cooler massively and tbh is needed. Not great that...

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Alienware command center seems to be reporting a temp 10-20C lower than other programs so not sure which to believe but those were too high i think. They said it was getting to 90 and the fans weren't kicking in.

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Got mine too today. Seems to be running a little hot but game shift cools it down quickly. Though it is really loud. Not tested it in games much yet but gonna test it out later/tomorrow. Without game shift the fans don't seem to do much and it takes longer than I'd like for them to speed up...

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

Have you used game shift? Apparently with that it is supposed to be between a 2060 and a 2070 maxQ but without it it is only a little better than a 1660ti. Mine isn't coming until the 15th but I'll also report on how it is.

When can we expect 5600m laptops in UK?

It does have 2 filled ram slots which can be replaced and a spare slot for a second drive. According to dell the max RAM supported is 32GB.

Need a budget gaming laptop max £1.4k (possibly more?)

Yeah it works. To conclude this thread, I ordered that dell last night since it was too good to pass up. I can put the rest towards either a desktop upgrade and/or a new tv depending on what happens. I started out not realising I could get a good enough one in that price range since I haven't...

Didn't know about that, Definitely ordering one too now since was considering it anyway and with that it is a good price.

Need a budget gaming laptop max £1.4k (possibly more?)

Yeah not sure yet how things will end up budget wise and I do often end up getting more than I need. I'd play a couple of new games probably but mostly ones that'd be fine on a cheap gpu. Just tempted to pay more even though I know it's not worth it for me. Mostly now want the display to at...

Need a budget gaming laptop max £1.4k (possibly more?)

So I have waited a bit and not sure what to do now. Current laptop probably wont last much longer and don't trust myself to fix it. Since they are all out of stock anyway everywhere I'll have to wait anyway. So if I bumped the budget up to £1.7k what could I get? I was going to get the TUF with...

Need a budget gaming laptop max £1.4k (possibly more?)

Wondered why only asus ones were up for preorder, I'll definitely wait a bit then. Don't expect this laptop to last much longer but I still have my desktop and phone when it does go completely. Plus I might actually be able to fix it myself when it breaks. Should really fix it now but I worry...

Need a budget gaming laptop max £1.4k (possibly more?)

Thanks I'll keep an eye on that. Probably best waiting until the new ryzen laptops actually come out rather than preordering. From what I can see it is definitely worth getting one over intel.
