Hi
Title says it all. I've been given a budget of £1000 from work to get a new laptop.
I'm a software developer so 16GB RAM is a must for me and I'm looking for a CPU equivilent of greater than an i7-7500U. I'm not bothered about screen size, 13" or 15", but it has to be able to push 2 1080p...
After discussing this more with my mate he's decided to up the budget to £900 rather than £800 so any new spec's with that budget would be appreciated.
I've updated the original post with the new details
Thanks again
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes l know it was an ATX case it was just something I was familiar with being quiet I was hoping someone would give me some mATX options.
Also good shout on the cooler, my bad.
£900 M-ATX Gaming PC that will run quiet
Hi, I've been asked by a friend to spec him an £900 gaming pc that will be able to run games a high settings. There also needs to be an emphasis on size and noise. He's also quite set on getting an nVidia 970 although I have informed him of some of the...
Yeah I've seen a few different solutions for the link software but to be perfectly honest it was the prospect of using the led in the h100i that was making me lean that way
I like this bundle a lot but I'm conscious it's just going to get replaced around christmas time so I'm not sure if it's too much for a few months. Anything a little cheaper maybe around £30-£40
Yes I will be using win 8.1. I heard there was a sort of fix for the h100i software if you changed some of the registry settings?
Nice spec shivy although I was wondering how does the seasonic compare to the superflower in the original spec?
So here's my final spec which I'm ordering today. Just looking for any final thoughts on bits that I could tweak. It will be used for some light gaming ie Hearthstone, Sim City and also for work so it'll be running Visual Studio (which is why I've gone for 16GB RAM). The upper limit is £1000 and...
No just general work so visual fidelity isn't of the utmost importance although obviously I want the best possible for the money. The only games I'll real be playing are F2P games like hearthstone for example.
Hey I'm about to buy 2 new monitors for my new pc build and was wondering what you guys thought? The monitor I'm currently going for is this
http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VS239HV/
(pretty sure I can link to asus)
These are £129 each. Are there any other monitors that can be had...
So the one with the bigger component will be more.......whaaaa!? :P
So we come out with this in the end, think I've got everything covered:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-SLI - Devils Canyon Core i5 4690K Bundle **£14 Saving** £274.54
1 x XFX Radeon R9 280 DD Edition 3072MB GDDR5...
Ok so I've changed my spec slightly in that the colour scheme has gone to a vague black and red (not that I'm that fussed about the colour scheme that much)
Heres what I've got with a 280X and 8GB RAM:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 - Devil's Canyon i5 4690K CPU & Micro ATX...
My routers on the second floor of my house kind of at the back at the house whereas my pc will be on the bottom floor at the front of the house. It's a new house, like 3 or 4 years old, so I'm not sure if that affects the wifi signal.
Also any ideas on the black and white colour scheme? I've...
Thanks for the replies. I like that build there scotsdragon although I'm still not convinced I'll need 16GB of RAM. I think I'm slowly turning towards the 280 the more I think about the games I'll be playing (maybe some F2P mmo's and some indies pc exclusives).
I'm surprised I've never heard of...
Hi cheers for the reply, lets see if I can reel off these answers :p
I use visual studio mainly, usually have between 3 and 5 projects loaded up at any one time.
I went with 280X as like I said I prefer gaming on consoles but I do have a lot of friends that game on PC so I do want to see...
