    Monitor advice

For what it's worth, as I am no expert in monitors at all, I just bought this on sale (only £48 over your £500) https://www.overclockers.co.uk/samsung-c27hg70-27-2560x1440-va-freesync-144hz-gaming-quantum-dot-hdr-widescreen-curved-monitor-mo-235-sa.html Quite frankly i'm blown away by it...

    34" - choice between G-Sync + Curved or 1440

Indeed mate, even more so for an ultrawide screen. I guess I have all my preferences covered with the Samsung minus G-Sync, so probably the best compromise and only went £150 over budget... Yup £800 and still no G-Sync! It is a lovely panel tho, think IvanDobskey will pop up now you posted...

    34" - choice between G-Sync + Curved or 1440

Thanks for all the replies, spent all my free time (except watching England lose at rugby again - grrrr) watching youtube reviews on these monitors. Still none the wiser :( Yes, I guess ideally I want 1440p at 100-120hz and I think my pref would also be for a VA screen. Partially due to IPS...

    34" - choice between G-Sync + Curved or 1440

Well in an ideal world, I would get 1440, G-Sync and 100Hz in the one monitor, but then your talking nearly 4 digit price tag at ultra-wide!! Even at 27" 16:9 resolution, the cheapest monitor I can see that ticks all those boxes in the AOC AG271QG @ £650 unless I am missing something?

    34" - choice between G-Sync + Curved or 1440

Thanks for the feedback Stu, I hadn't seen that review on the AOC. Yeah, whilst higher PPI of 1440 is very desirable, I think G-Sync may give me a little more longevity in 2-3 years time when my 1080 may be struggling with future game requirements. Thanks for your thoughts!

    34" - choice between G-Sync + Curved or 1440

OK, the time has finally come to stop posting dumb questions on these forums, grow a pair and buy a monitor! (it's only taken 18 months) So after thinking ultra-wide was sadly out of my price range, I saw these two deals today: My basket at Overclockers UK: 1 x AOC U3477PQU 34" 3440x1440 IPS...

Best 'deal' going for 55ish inch HDR TV around £800

Wow, that's a lot of TV for the price, I'm going to check other suppliers for that model. Should have mentioned I live in a field in norniron, so sadly no John Lewis over here :(

Best 'deal' going for 55ish inch HDR TV around £800

As much as I would love to consider OLED, I just can't justify the price right now, so looking for suggestions on any good Christmas/January sale deals people may have spotted for a 55ish inch HDR TV up to £800. Looking at the well known TV shop website, there are lots of options around this...

    LG 34UC79G 34" or Samsung C27FG70 27" - can't decide...

I think i'd end up spending a fortune on return postage too mate, I don't even get free delivery in norniron!

    LG 34UC79G 34" or Samsung C27FG70 27" - can't decide...

You guys are going to get me divorced... OK, before I purchase one of these two screens I'll take another look at the monitors around £500-£600 mark. I do like the specs of the AOC AGON AG271QG (if I can get it for under £600) and also the new Samsung C27HG70. But for this price I feel like I...

    LG 34UC79G 34" or Samsung C27FG70 27" - can't decide...

Thanks Davanius and to everyone else for their suggestions. the biggest pita is that living in a field in northern ireland, there is nowhere local to go see these monitors in person and see the differences between TN vs IPS, IPS vs VA, 1080p vs 1440p, 60Hz vs 144Hz, G-Sync vs non G-Sync etc to...

    LG 34UC79G 34" or Samsung C27FG70 27" - can't decide...

Lol a bit more? think we are talking £800+ for 34" 1440? I can't bring myself to spend that much money - I also need a new tv and can get 55-60" for similar price!! I was looking at the AOC Agon 27" IPS 1440 G-Sync joby at £600 and even thats a bit rich for me. I do have the money, it's more a...

    LG 34UC79G 34" or Samsung C27FG70 27" - can't decide...

Didn't you try the 25" Samsung hornetstinger? (I maybe getting mixed up) I nearly went with that but then realised it was 21:9 ratio and you lose a fair bit of screen estate (iirc?) Iv'e seen positive reviews (Linus and others) for the LG in terms of colours and Lims Cave stated he liked the...

    LG 34UC79G 34" or Samsung C27FG70 27" - can't decide...

I did look at that option but iirc it's tn? I've never had an IPS screen and kinda have my heart set on IPS/VA rather than screen size. I'm slightly concerned the 34" maybe too big as I sit about 1 meter max from my current monitor. I should have said, this is purely for gaming. I guess I will...

£100 off LG 34UC79G Freesync 1ms 144Hz Gaming Monitor with OCUK!

Mind if I ask why? PPI? I'm torn between this LG and the Samsung C27FG70 27" VA 144Hz Quantum dot and really need to make a decision soon. PPI and distance to screen (just under 2 foot) are my concerns over a 34" screen.

    ***21.9 Ultrawide Thread***

So I've been dithering for over 6 months on a new monitor and struggling to justify £600 for the so called 'sweet spot' of 27" / 1440 / 144Hz / G-Sync spec. Was holding out for the new Samsung C27HG70 27" 2560x1440 VA FREESYNC 144Hz Gaming Quantum DOT HDR, but a review on YouTube (Lims Cave...
