    Shell petrol stations.

Do the pumps not have those buttons for setting a max amount? Or as suggested, you just fill your tank and save yourself time.

    Finding out cause of death...

I'm sorry for your loss. If your mum had been ill, her GP may have signed a death certificate, in which case there'd be no involvement from the police or coroner. If the death was unexpected, the police will attend and carry out a preliminary investigation to ensure there was no foul play...

Declining attitude to law and order

Why were they there though? Were they under arrest? Detained under the mental health or mental capacity act? Had they been violent or were they a risk to themselves? Without knowing the full story, how can you say who was wasting who's time?

16 our of 17 police officers refuse to answer IPCC questions

They have the same rights as anyone else. They can go no comment if they wish to do so. To be fair if I'd been papered, I'd be hesitant to speak with anyone from the iopc too, useless organisation that they are. As for one guy quitting, what do you propose? Keep paying him until you can sack...

Firefighters ... Shoes on the dashboard

It's also uniform. It's about pride in your appearance and looking smart and professional and giving out the impression you know what you're doing. I got filmed for TV the other day doing a search. I had been searching with my overalls tied round my waist with no armour or vest on because it...

Is crime going out of control?

No I don't. And neither does any other cop I know. Which makes me think maybe the daily mail are twisting things for their own gain. Just a suggestion.

Is crime going out of control?

You honestly think if they had a gun and a crossbow the police would let them go? Maybe there's more to this than just his side of the story.

Is crime going out of control?

You know, I get the suspicious feeling that there might be slightly more to that story. I suppose it's possible the police ignored the men with a crossbow and a gun, and that the poor innocent man was forced to resign for reasons completely unrelated to his use of the N word.

Is crime going out of control?

I think the most telling part of that video is not how much she struggled (I'm a 6'3" male, and I struggle to arrest people who really want to resist when I'm alone. People who think it's easy to restrain someone have never tried it) it's how many people walked on by, or worse, filmed. Nobody...

    Drink driving on private land

For S5 RTA it needs to be "a road or a public place". It's doubtful it'd be a road but would be a public place. DPP v Vivier (1991) found a caravan park to be a public place, so a holiday park would probably be included. To be fair to the officers, it's not straight forward to know stated...

Can I get done by unmarked police?

It is not an offence for you to fail to stop for an officer in uniform, that doesn't mean you can't pull people if you're not in uniform. As Burnsy says, in certain circumstances you need to be in uniform to administer a breath test, but I can't think of any offences you cannot prosecute if...

Can I get done by unmarked police?

Technically, even an off duty officer can prosecute you. In reality however, it's very unlikely. Unless you doing something pretty serious. There's no requirement to be in uniform for most traffic offences. That's a myth.

"Officer, what colour are your socks?"

No one has ever checked the colour of my socks yet. I got a comment about the plain black baseplate I had on under my plain black uniform top today though

    The FA CUP Fifth Round ** Spoilers ** [16th - 19th February 2018] + Replays

Wigan will probably get some punishment for the pitch invasion, and that's quite right, that's not acceptable, but City should get the worse punishment, their fans were by the far the more aggressive and violent. Missiles were being thrown before the game even finished.

    Police Constable

Don't forget the deductions from your wage.. Tax, NI, Pension contributions, Fed subscription, Benevolent fund, Insurance etc take almost 40% of my salary before I even see it :( I do think it's underpaid (although I would say that) for what is expected of cops. I'm fortunate in that I didn't...

    BMW and M Power Owners

Personal opinion, but if it was mine, I'd not be using signal blockers or steering locks. If they've decided they want your car, they're having it. Would you rather it goes off the drive while you sleep, or they come back the next night and come through your front door for the keys?

    Car thieves

Do you still live local Worthy? Golf Rs are the desirable car right now, to your average man on the street, they're just a golf, nothing that stands out, but they're faster than most stuff in the cop's arsenal, and roomy enough to use to commit crimes in. As for the police attendance debate...
