Dude if you roll back to the older drivers can you still bench @ 1625 i wonder if it is a driver problem / limit or some sort of corruption happening over time with the chips i hope for the first one really lol. i will try and roll back to older ones tonight and see if i can push the memory has...

I do get a black screen if i overclock to much and dont give it enough voltage or have the fan high enough for me its these probloems. I can get the memory up to 6400 if i set the voltage to max in GPU tweak and fan to max as well. The why to check the memory is to download the memoryinfo1005...

Not sure if this has been posted here not seen it yet but looks like there still might be a little problem with some 290x well the sapphire ones anyway looks like the bios or something is not right from sapphire as the core is all over the place...

Why is AMD quiet about black screens on 290x?

If I was in your shoes I would put the stock cooler back on and try it if it still did not work rma it you have to put the stock cooler back anyway to send it back so give it a go.

    R9 290X Owners Thread

Well i can't talk for everyone but i find the 290x to be great once you find a happy point for you regarding noise vs throttling. If you dont mind a little noise then make a custom fan profile that will ensure the card keeps cool but if you want to keep the noise down leave it at stock and it's...

From reading all i can online and chekcing out the info from the guy who codes the MSI AB app it looks like the new R9 cards dont have the abillity for you to manually set memory voltage as its all done dynamically or differently then before or something but basically you cant do it as far as i...

Which top end card to get?

For a little more you could get two HIS R9 290's that have already been flashed by OCUK to a R9 290x that would mean 290x CF that will eat everything you throw at it and would keep you going for a long time and save you a little bit of money then getting the standard 290x CF. Just an idea :)

@Scramz , @Avenged7Fold Just out of interest guys what kind of clockers were you getting on the stock cooler could you hit these clocks with the fan maxed out or were you limited ? I can get to aobut 1180/1600 on the stock cooler but it gets hot i cant push it more without getting problems...

AMD Radeon 290X Kuhler mod: Taming Hawaii 'Pic heavy'.

I am going to say the reason is cost. This mod cost him nearly nothing as he had most of the parts already i think. If you want to go custom loop you are looking at £400-£500 pounds and for some people its not worth it / too expensive. Plus its fun to mod :)

AMD Radeon 290X Kuhler mod: Taming Hawaii 'Pic heavy'.

VRM1 temps @97c is that with the VRAM Chip Coolers ? I think if you can get that down you should be able to overclock more or be more stable at least that is high but i think people have been saying they could have a limit of 125c but i dont know if that is 100% correct. lovely mod for sure. If...
