    Warning for all motherboard owners

I am surprised a OCUK boss hasn't posted in here to clear thing up. Letting this thread go on and on is just bad publicity for both Asus and OC. Way more bad publicity than the cost of the board.

SOLVED-replace hard drive in laptop without losing anything?

you are looking to clone the drive by the looks of it. google should give you some idea. HDD to SSD is a fairly common upgrade.

    Laptop display help

If you are not getting a clear signal from the HDMI out then it looks like it is more than just screen damage. If you have to replace the screen, hinges, case, gpu, etc is might well not be cost effective.

    Buying a replacement screen

Need to buy a replacement for a broken screen. No problem getting the old one out and the new one in, but buying one seems a bit perplexing. All the people who supply spares on ebay and their own websites just want you to give them your existing part number and then they give you a price for a...

    Cleaning GPU

I get the vacuum hose right in there. I know some people hate this and talk about static but it has never caused an issue in the last 15 years of doing it, every few months on countless PCs.

Fair build fee for putting together a PC for a friend?

Sometimes it is best to charge - even if it is only a nominal fee. Some people like to feel they gave value for value and if you refuse payment they are not going to ask for help again when they need it. All depends on the specific friend and the specific relationship you have with them...

    Zotac GTX 1070Ti Differences

The cooling it the only major difference. Maybe slightly better power delivery on the full size cards. Both making them more attractive for overclocking. In a well ventilated case I suspect all three cards at stock to give performance within a few percentage points and draw around the same power.

Is it fair to ask for a £30 refund on i7 8700k I purchased 12 days ago ?

Actually the UK's biggest tax dodger doesn't offer this as standard any more. If it is unopenned you could have shipped it back for a fiver though and reordered.

    Upgrade from a HD 4870 to a GTX 660

Cheapest way to play a lot of those games would be a console IMO. Hope saying that doesn't get me lynched on here :D

    Gigabyte UK Warranty How Good?

The OP is unhappy that he will likely get a refurb card. If he had taken it back to the store he would have likely had a new card or a refund. I was merely pointing out that the OP has some justification in feeling annoyed. The refurb will likely work out just fine but if you opted for a...

    Displayport to HDMI adapter

They work passive DP to HDMI but only powered (and expensive) HDMI to DP. If the HDMI-in is on the TV and the DP-out is on the gfx card then any cheap passive lead should work. Does the gfx card have dvi-i? DVI to HDMI leads are usually inexpensive.

    Assu b350f

I disagree. It is likely to come with an older bios that does not contain the memory compatibility update. So I would update it when you build the PC with the latest stable bios. The reason manuals advise against frivolous updating, every time a new bios comes out, is that 1. there is a slim...

Other than the fans, then I would say the warranty. Palit is RMA all the way to asia.

    Gigabyte UK Warranty How Good?

I wouldn't say Gigabyte are responsibility free in this. They made a defective card and if the shop had been in business it would have returned the card as faulty stock and received a credit equal to new wholesale price.

Which of these GTX 1060 Cards

EVGA is passive at idle temps, acceptable under load (60%) and a jet engine should you ever whack it up to 100%. I am not sure why it even allows you to got up to 100% though as it is over 3500 rpm and nobody wants that. I hear asus RMA isn't great.
