I'm pretty sure the ending was nothing to do with covid but instead a dig that china is becoming what America was always regarded as... the biggest global superpower that was at the forefront of everything. They are hinting soon we'll all be driving chinese cars and it'll become much more a part...
My Black ANSI shipped a few days ago from Europe, hoping to get it late next week in which case I'll be very happy with my decision to cancel the pre-order. I really don't understand why OCuk had so much confusion with exactly what type/colour of boards were going to arrive and when.
I cancelled my order too, given I ordered late and the quantity arriving appearing to be totally unknown as well as the complete lack of updates I felt OC didn't deserve to hold on to my money. I've went somewhere else which had much better communication. Even if I could've had my keyboard from...
I've fully bought into the rumours and decided to hold off buying a new Macbook until at least the autumn passes. Rumours of the Pro possibly getting the M1X whilst the Air will get the M2 chip makes me want to hold off even longer to get the new Air.
My biggest annoyance is that they keep moving the date back. I'd rather a worst case date was given then I'd be happy if it was sent out earlier rather than being annoyed it has been pushed back again.
As much as I can't wait to receive the keyboard I'm not sure I could bring myself to pay the import and ridiculous handling fees you'll be charged when I know it's also available from a UK retailer.
I only preordered recently as I thought if there was huge demand this would be reflected in the expected date being pushed back.. Fingers crossed there's enough stock coming for everyone as I should have both the caps and switches I want to use arriving by the end of this week!
Perhaps consider picking up this monitor if you have the room, amazing price
My basket at Overclockers UK: 1 x AOC Q3279VWF 32" 2560x1440 VA 75Hz FREESYNC WideScreen LED Monitor= £199.99 Total: £211.09 (includes shipping: £11.10)
Also windows can be had for much cheaper if you look...
Have you spoke to the company you bought it from? Should be easiest to go through them based on what you said and given the timeframe, I'd imagine they would just send you a new one.
I would assume some boxing day sales may be coming? But you're kinda right, depends a lot on what the OP is thinking of purchasing really :). If you wait long enough vega cards should be showing up with custom coolers which might make gpu choices a bit more exciting...
Good spec for the price, probably worth slightly stretching as this is a really solid build
Depending on how much you value the looks/price of the case, perhaps could switch to something like this to bring it down to ~£650
My basket at Overclockers UK:
1 x Bitfenix Nova Midi Tower Case -...
I honestly also had this opinion of windows 10, but I was also needing a computer upgrade badly and wanted to take advantage of all the black friday sales that just happened, forcing my hand to upgrade to Windows 10 without using a ridiculous work around. You can untick all the tracking stuff...
Any particular reason you always spec that crazy Galax HOF RAM? Below is clearly better value, or you can even get the 8pack if you want to feel like you're using the best stuff for basically same price...
My basket at Overclockers UK: 1 x Team Group Vulcan T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4...
As above.
Why go through the hassle of sending back and then waiting for a new one? Just clean it, see how it behaves in a system and then if it isn't within normal temps then send it back, you've got the photos now to prove it...
You could just google it given it's been out for multiple months? A good place to start would be this article https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/3076-intel-i7-8700k-review-vs-ryzen-streaming-gaming-overclocking has plenty of accurate thermals and performance info.
