Do you navigate away from webpages that have tedious ‘cookie’ pop-ups?

I don’t know how you could tolerate that. I use adblockers everywhere.

    What was your first Smartphone?

Nokia 7610 in black and red in 2004. I started browsing the internet on a Nokia N80 in 2005 back in the day when you used the D-pad to move a cursor around the screen.

    YouTube Premium

I think cross subsidisation and selling at a loss deliberately should be illegal and prevented. Consumers can’t accurately assess the value of a product if the true cost is obfuscated. This is why I think advertising funded products should also come with a no advert option with a price tag so...

    YouTube Premium

If it’s profitable for Google to sell YouTube premium for £1.30 in India, why is it not profitable for them to sell it in the UK for £1.30? The UK shouldn’t be expected to subsidise India.

    Are combination microwaves any good?

Thanks for the comments. I’ve ordered one that is a microwave, grill and convection oven in one. I’ll see how it goes

    Are combination microwaves any good?

I should say I am not replacing a gas oven with a combination oven, it will simply be a supplemental oven. I just don’t want to waste my time if they aren’t actually any good as an oven.

    Are combination microwaves any good?

    It’s a microwave I actually need.

    Are combination microwaves any good?

True, but with a limited amount of bench space I don’t have enough room to fill it with appliances, nor the cupboard space to store them away. A microwave is pretty much essential so I have to dedicate some space for one of those at least.

    Are combination microwaves any good?

Hi all. My microwave has just gone pop. My current double gas oven is also a bit knackered and we are currently having to use the small top oven for cooking everything. To mitigate this I was wondering if a combination microwave would be any good. Does anyone have any experience or...

    TV Licence Super Thread

Whilst that is a solution, I don’t think it’s currently a viable solution with the technology we have. The switch over from analogue to digital, whilst pretty major in its own right, was relatively straight forward as we simply continued to use all the existing infrastructure that just about...

Difference between big name and no name breakdown cover

£167 RAC renewal (previously paid £110 for 15 months). Some of the no names are £30/40 or so.

Difference between big name and no name breakdown cover

Hi all. Can anyone tell me the difference between the big name and no name breakdown cover providers? My assumption is that the no name simply sub-contract the recovery/repair to a local 3rd party whereas the likes of AA and RAC will use in-house teams. What other differences are there? I...

*** The Official iPhone 15 thread (it has USB-C and everything!) ***

The android back button has always been a terrible implementation of a back button (given it goes back, switches apps and goes home!). Unless Google has finally changed it so that it just ‘goes back’.

The joy of being a landlord

The probably there though is the lack of social housing. Landlords shouldn’t be the scapegoat for government failures.

The joy of being a landlord

The opinion of some is that the landlord should operate the property at a loss whilst it is occupied by a tenant on the basis that the landlord receives a windfall in the future when the property is sold. The trouble is that doesn’t jive with economic reality as landlords can’t operate at a loss.
