World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Yup, HDR1000 looks fixed indeed! Windows HDR tool goes a touch over 1000 for me on default 75 contrast. I'm only using HDR in games tho - SDR looks best to me on Creator preset. I'm glad I didn't go for the non F version now.

    Stiff untidy cables!

Hey guys. I have a Corsair 1000w RMx modular 80 plus gold psu and am having a fair bit of trouble keeping the cables tidy - mainly the cables going to the gpu. Compared ones i've used in the past, they are super rigid and hard to bend. I'm making an effort to get things looking neat this time...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I've had the DWF for a few weeks now and the only annoyance is HDR1000 not working properly. Otherwise, it's hard to fault and is comfortably the best, most responsive monitor i've experienced by some margin. It's worth chiming in on this thread over at Dell re. HDR1000 btw. They're aware of...

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU Burns Up

Is the general consensus still that it's best to manually set soc voltage to 1.2? Mine currently autos to 1.24.

Can I run Expo with XMP ram?

Cheers man. Everything seems to be running fine

Can I run Expo with XMP ram?

I'm hoping after the new bios update it's safe enough - but will probably hang on for a while! Cheers for the info btw. There's the option to run as Expo 1 & 2 in the bios and it shows the new target speed will be 6000mhz if applied, i'm just not sure if it read that from the ram or if those...

Can I run Expo with XMP ram?

//edit - it seems to run fine under Expo settings Hey guys. I may well of bought the wrong ram (and the wrong mobo! Asus 670E): https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/p/memory/cmh32gx5m2d6000c36/vengeance-rgb-32gb-2x16gb-ddr5-dram-6000mhz-c36-memory-kit-black-cmh32gx5m2d6000c36 I'd like to run it at...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Cheers for the suggestion. That box is ticked and it says the selected display is not valdated as G-Sync Compatible, which I gather is normal. I notice tearing in Halo Infinite and in Atomic Heart tho. One reddit thread suggested an issue with this monitor and G-Sync with HDR. I'll do some more...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I'm gettign a fair amount of screen tearing with my AW3423DWF. G-Sync is enabled in control panel and everything looks correct settings wise. My understanding, after reading a bunch of reviews, that the DWF should still be fine with G-Sync. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Your experience with OLED burn-in

Still rocking a C7 - many hours of gaming over the years and the better half many more times that watching TV and no burn in yet. A handful of times there's been some retention that soon went away.

    RTX 4080 VS RX 7900XTX 1440p Ultrawide

That seems like one of the better deals going atm. I upgrade very really tho (5+ years), so went for the best card budget allowed.

    RTX 4080 VS RX 7900XTX 1440p Ultrawide

I had the same dilemma and ended up ordering a 4080 to go with a DW3423DWF on the weekend. It was a toss up between the 4080 and 7900xtx and it came down to price in the end. There was a new Palit OC 4080 going for 1k which, while still eye wateringly expensive, was cheaper than I could get a...

Mid range vs all in dilema

So in the end I chucked all reason out the window and ordered a 7800x3d rig with a 4080 rtx (new, Palit OC version for 1k. Still overpriced I know!) to go with a Dell ultrawide oled. My wallet is having a sulk but I'm pretty stoked!

Mid range vs all in dilema

If 1.5k gets me 75fps at 2560x1080 on high settings for the next 3 years, i'll be a happy chappy :)

Mid range vs all in dilema

Cheers everyone - that's covered everything and much appreciated :) I'm going to base this around the display and atm am leaning towards the cheaper mid range option for my current 2560x1080 at 75hz monitor, hoping for it to last 2-3 years before going all in on an uber oled ultrawide and a rig...

Mid range vs all in dilema

Cheers man - looks good. That's the loop I end up in. Might as well then pay a bit more for a 7900XTX and i'm at the 3k all in machine. I swear everything's priced to upsell! If the intention was to game at just 2560*1080 75fps for the next few years - what GPU do you think I could get away...

Mid range vs all in dilema

Hey guys. I need a new gaming PC - still rocking a i7-4790K! - and am torn between going all in with a 7800X3D / 7900XTX / new 1440p ultrawide etc for 3.5-4k, or something more mid tier for my current monitor (1080p ultrawide 75hz). If going for the former, i'd want 5 years+ out of it. The...

    PlayStation VR / VR2

Walking Dead is so damn good on PSVR2! I was a little disappointed in the clarity and performance of the big hitting games prior to this and as far as i'm concered, Saints and Sinners should be the benchmark re. how sharp and smooth PSVR2 games should run. It lacks the detail of Village, but...

    Tabletop Warhammer?

That's looking good man. Slap a base on. It's surprising how much that brings a mini/unit together. You're right about paint consistency and that's something I still struggle with years into this. Every paint is different and needs a different amount of thinning for what you're trying to do...
