    NVIDIA 4000 Series

Hey you stop posting facts as well. I mean why have dedicated hardware for anything when it could be done with a massive performance penalty in software.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

I don't really know why I bothered to.be honest. This is probably the worst thread I've ever seen on any forum, but I dip in now and again as it's like watching a slow perpetual motion car crash.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

Must be why all the manufacturers are added hardware that accelerates ray tracing and unreal 5.3 (I believe) adds support for hardware acceleration. Ray tracing isn't a proprietary technology. But sure, you're clearly an expert. *Edit* you might be right, but it's not just an Nvidia thing is...

    7900xtx or 4080?

I saw in Remnant 2 they are very similar but I'd assumed that was an outlier. What other games are exhibiting similar behaviour? Is there any common pattern in terms of game engine etc. I ask because the 4090 outlcasses the XTX in every metric (on paper) so I'd be surprised if this became a...

When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

Agree with you. Other guy just seems to want to argue with you for some reason, but then anyone that starts to use phrases like 'butt hurt' probably deserves to go straight on anyone's ignore list anyway.

    Samsung Neo G9

Now and again I think about upgrading from my G9 to the Neo. What issues did you have?

    Samsung Neo G9

I can't help directly, but I have had the original G9 since a few months after release and it's great, no regrets at all. You said it yourself, there is no perfect monitor. Everything is a compromise.

What do you think of the 4070Ti?

That idea was never true. It's always about supply and demand, it's just that simple.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

So it stayed in stock most the day? Hopefully scalping will die down now and prices will drop over time as many have predicted. I bought a 4090FE today mid afternoon and I'm glad I did, first GPU upgrade in four years.

    Response times ms

Best thing to do it read the tech explanations on blur busters and read the explanations of response times on monitor reviews on Rtings. You can't rely on any of the manufacturer figures as they never tell the whole true story. Youve got MPRT, overshoot errors with overdrive, different reponse...

The Ada Lovelace RTX 4090 Owners Thread

I bought one earlier too, upgrading from a 2080TI. Still in stock so demand has clearly cooled and/or there is more supply. Wonder if that will stop people making things up about drip feeding stock to the market. Either way hopefully that will be the end of the scalping.

    Sod it I'm buying a 4080

I'm tempted to buy a 4080 as a replacement for my 2080TI, but 1. I think the prices will come down a bit and 2. It's the same size as the 4090, which is already massive.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

Good sign for the future. So much negativity and moaning in the last 900 pages. Despite all the conspiracy theories, they need to sell product to make profit, and nothing can beat the laws of supply and demand, despite all the rubbish about "they can charge what they want". People just need to...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

I don't have a 4090, but I had a similar issue on my system with my 240hz g9. Dropping the refresh rate to 120hz sorted it, I assume it was a driver issue. Don't know what screen you have but just a thought. It was the same windows process causing the gpu usage.

2080TI - whats the best model to keep an eye out for on the second hand market?

I'm a 3d vision gamer too, I understand why it didn't catch on but it's a shame that more people didn't experience it as when done right it's transformative. Back to the question, AFAIK there is no one brand better than any other. There was a reliability (space invader) scare when new but as...

    ** NEW SAMSUNG ODYSSEY G7/G9 MONITORS 27-49" AVAILABLE TO PRE-ORDER **

I bought the G9 non-neo a while back and I have no regrets. Using it more for work than play now, but I still appreciate the decent contrast, HDR and high refresh rate when I do game. No doubt OLED is a better technology but the G9 is a very good monitor IMO.

10GB vram enough for the 3080? Discuss..

I'm pretty sure that's wrong. The frame buffer and texture assets sit in VRAM, not the cache. A cache doens't hold assets, it just increases the efficiency of a processor (GPU or CPU or whatever) by keeping it more effectively fed with instructions when there is a cache hit. The reason for a...

Anyone have experience with connecting a pc to a LG CX with a v. long (5m+) hdmi 2.1 cable?

I'd recommend optical for a long run. You need to check the bandwidth specs, plus earc can be flakey, not that it will affect your application? With some active hdmi cables, the amplifier has been known to fail as well, although I appreciate that no cable is guaranteed to work forever. Also...

Raptor Lake Leaks + Intel 4 developments

Just start adding people to your ignore list. It makes the forums a much more tolerable and peaceful place, although on the CPU threads it's scary how many posts disappear.

The new Samsung Odyssey G9 Mini Led

Not completely true. All panels have different response times depending on starting colour/brightness and ending colour/brightness. That's why for the standard LCD technologies in the modern high refresh rate era, they are all overdriven, which comes with it's own issues with overshoot errors...
