Changed the pressure switch, and all is well. I can't see how the same signal from the switch could be interpreted as both 1.1 bar and less than 0.5 bar unless there was something else wrong, but there were no codes in the State diagnostic check, so fingers crossed the problem won't recur.

When the pump stops, I can drain the water out by undoing the fluff filter, and it flows normally; there's no blockage. When the problem first occurred, I ran the waste hose out of the back door on to the patio to see if the drain was blocked. It made no difference at all. I've got the pump...

I don't think a dodgy water level sensor would affect the flow from the pump when it was running, and it does run. I've ordered a new pump - they're only £30 - and I'll see what that does when it arrives. In case it doesn't fix it, I've booked a Miele engineer's visit for next Thursday anyway...

The boiler is a Glow Worm Flexicom 18 SX. To set the scene, there's a slight leak somewhere in the heating. No signs of leakage visible anywhere, and I've even had the hydrogen leak detection boys out three times so far; they can't find it either! It's obviously opening up when the system heats...

No need, thank goodness. It must have found out I was threatening it with a multimeter; I tried it again an hour later, and now it is working normally again! Let's hope it keeps doing so... Thank you again.
