Vista mail and Tiscali pop server

Holy thread revival Batman... I'm having problems with Outlook and the Talktalk/Tiscali (Tiscali email address) server. I'm using Windows 10. Trying to log on to Outlook, I get the authentication box and the Error 0x800CCC0E message - 'unable to synchronise subscribed folders' and 'cannot...

I need an MP3 player - that will display the folders on the SD card...

The thread title says it all, really. I have a couple of oldish Mercedes, which cannot stream via Bluetooth (and nor can I; I don't have music on my phone). The cheap 'n cheerful Chinese units work OK, but I haven't found one that can display the folders on the SD card I use to store my music so...

Glow Worm Flexicom 18 - Pressure Vessel

Well, no problems so far, and it's holding steady pressure, but I take your point, gentlemen; they wouldn't fit an internal diaphragm just to use up some spare left-over rubber sheeting... I'll fit a new one.

Glow Worm Flexicom 18 - Pressure Vessel

Thank you. They certainly don't cost a lot, but I wonder if I just leave it, will it make much difference? With the inlet/outlet at the bottom, if it's partially full of air (which it is - there's no water coming out of the Schrader valve with the system at 1.1 bar), it should fulfil the...

Glow Worm Flexicom 18 - Pressure Vessel

There's always bloody SOMETHING... Draining my boiler yesterday, I opened the Schrader valve on the expansion vessel, and water came out! I thought/think it has a rubber bladder inside it, and if so, that has sprung a leak. What function does the expansion vessel perform, and more to the...

Flexicom 18 SX boiler - False F9 code

Changed the pressure switch, and all is well. I can't see how the same signal from the switch could be interpreted as both 1.1 bar and less than 0.5 bar unless there was something else wrong, but there were no codes in the State diagnostic check, so fingers crossed the problem won't recur.

Glow Worm Flexicom 18 - Now It's The Pressure...

I tried the Fernox leak sealer last Spring, and the system held pressure for a week or so, then started to drop again, and was soon as bad as before. This time I spoke to a technical guy at Fernox, who assured me that the sealer would not block the heat exchanger passages, confirmed two bottles...

Miele Washing Machine Fault - I'm Baffled...

Yes, I took the Platinum Care. The problem turned out to be nothing more than a build-up of limescale in the drain hose... which I had loosened by doing the 90 degree empty machine wash cycle using the Miele detergent! As the engineer admitted, the problem could have been solved by just...

Flexicom 18 SX boiler - False F9 code

Not that long since I replaced the 3-port valve, and now there's another problem... The boiler doesn't like early morning starts, and refuses to play ball. It displays the F9 code, but the pressure is fine (1.1 bar). Pressing the + and reset buttons simultaneously does not get it to fire up...

Glow Worm Boiler Problem - SOLVED! Seized 3-port valve.

And it stopped again... So I thought sod it, let's change the head. The old one was seized, and replacing it cured it. Thank you one and all.

Miele Washing Machine Fault - I'm Baffled...

Predictably, the new pump made little difference, except that I know it's not the the pump that is the problem. Mr. Cookie, thank you; that hadn't occurred to me. I put about five litres of water in the drum and ran it on drain, but it's still only coming out quite slowly. The hose from drum...

Miele Washing Machine Fault - I'm Baffled...

When the pump stops, I can drain the water out by undoing the fluff filter, and it flows normally; there's no blockage. When the problem first occurred, I ran the waste hose out of the back door on to the patio to see if the drain was blocked. It made no difference at all. I've got the pump...

Miele Washing Machine Fault - I'm Baffled...

I don't think a dodgy water level sensor would affect the flow from the pump when it was running, and it does run. I've ordered a new pump - they're only £30 - and I'll see what that does when it arrives. In case it doesn't fix it, I've booked a Miele engineer's visit for next Thursday anyway...

Miele Washing Machine Fault - I'm Baffled...

I have a Miele W304 washing machine, and the drain pump is now only pushing out a small amount of water. Apart from that, the machine works perfectly, but of course, the pump isn't draining enough water out, so it times out. ALL the drains and hoses, inside the machine and external, are...

Glow Worm Flexicom 18 - It Never Rains But It Pours...

Replaced the synchron motor - fault fixed (whoopee!!!) Haven't replaced the boiler pressure sensor (my second thread) but will do that tomorrow. NOW I notice that the hot water circuit gets hot even when only the heating circuit is switched on... I also notice that the little 'auto/manual'...

Glow Worm Flexicom 18 - Now It's The Pressure...

It's not the leak I'm bothered about; I know what that is, just not where it is... I'll consider putting in a leak stopper, but my plumber reckons they're more of a way of buying time than a permanent repair, and because of the small size of the water passages in the heat exchanger, I'm...

Glow Worm Flexicom 18 - Now It's The Pressure...

The boiler is a Glow Worm Flexicom 18 SX. To set the scene, there's a slight leak somewhere in the heating. No signs of leakage visible anywhere, and I've even had the hydrogen leak detection boys out three times so far; they can't find it either! It's obviously opening up when the system heats...

Glow Worm Boiler Problem - SOLVED! Seized 3-port valve.

No need, thank goodness. It must have found out I was threatening it with a multimeter; I tried it again an hour later, and now it is working normally again! Let's hope it keeps doing so... Thank you again.

Glow Worm Boiler Problem - SOLVED! Seized 3-port valve.

I have a multimeter and know how to use it; I'll take a look in the installation instructions and see if I can work anything out.
