Change to MM access after 1st January 2024

Indeed, I could understand a rule targeting people that primarily posted in the MM but this seems to go beyond that. I always assumed having a thriving MM was beneficial to ocuk, that the proceeds from selling would often be used to buy new components from the shop? Reducing the number of...

    Octopus woes

It is susprising that smart meters aren't smarter but I believe it's normal for them to stay on GMT. I'm on E7 and it took me a while to figure out some of the quirks. Even the time it switches over isn't necessarily on the hour or half hour. Energy companies seem to do a poor job explaining...

Need some euro cylinder lock advise pls

ABS seems a smoother/nicer action for key insertion etc. at place I was renting last year. Whereas Ultion that I have currently unfortunately seems very rough to me, not sure why, key seems pointlessly chunky?

Please help me understand : Electric Radiators vs Cheap Panel Heaters

A cheap one will just be on/off whereas paying a bit more you'll get a thermostat and programming which should save you some money. Beyond that there isn't any way to get more heat per watt used. Storage heaters on an E7 tariff? At least you'd only be paying ~half the price per unit.

    Best video doorbell....

Just got a blink with sync module and a mini (mainly to use as a chime). £78 for those 3 items seems reasonable. Main frustration is how it seems they've gone out of their way to hobble the app experience if you're not paying for a subscription. I guess it's a predictable business model to have...

Anyone with eon for economy 7 and noticed a change to the night tariff this week?

Similarly have economy 7 on Octopus although only moved in a couple weeks ago. Is it obvious from the bills what you're paying and when? The "Prices" screen on my IHD says 08:30 - https://imgur.com/a/9znSjTQ

    Smart meter faulty?

Does seem it was an odd issue, apparently not all suppliers are consistent with which register they use. Ovo guide for my meter says to do it differently to others. Despite being on a single rate tariff my usage is being tracked on IMP R01 accessed through menu 6 whereas most places say to use...

    Smart meter faulty?

Embarassing, seems I was pressing the wrong button :o

    Smart meter faulty?

I don't know whether anyone has experience of or insight into potentially faulty meters? It's a secure liberty100 (smets1). Had no problems from April to the end of January then it stopped automatically sending readings with the WAN light on. Alerted my supplier who got back to me today...

Legacy G Suite users - what are you going to do?

The "no-cost option" they're trumpeting is just a regular google account? I thought they might have come up with something a bit better than that.

Can I get decent sun glasses for £50?

If you don't need prescription lenses then perhaps just look on ebay for something second hand? Would also recommend Trove, had mine for several years. The design works well. You don't need RFID blocking.

    What watch do you wear?

If Stowa were a bit more mainstream (to be worth exploiting) and they'd just been bought by some private equity company then I might be concerned. Tempus look interesting, their other brands Lang & Heyne and Leinfelder are pretty obscure and without any "heritage" but much more expensive. They...

    What watch do you wear?

Hadn't heard of Tempus Arte but at a glance I can't see any reason to be upset or worried? Looking at the other brands they own seems a bit of a stretch to compare them to Swatch. Indeed, although have Nomos prices increased by a similar amount over the years? ~£600 (60%) difference currently...

Legacy G Suite users - what are you going to do?

Completed the survey, will be interesting to see if they offer any alternative. I'll probably just keep paying for one account regardless as it's a fair price or at least I don't see any options better than gmail. It's possible to download your emails either by following...

    P2P Investing

I don't think (m)any platforms were ever profitable? Content to have finished with Zopa, RS and Growth St. Not classic P2P but I still have money in Property Partner and WiseAlpha. Feel quite lucky to have avoided the catastrophic failures like Lendy or Collateral.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021, Yas Island - Race 22

Both drivers deserved it but to win like that is dissappointing. Was obviously going to be a relatively easy overtake for Verstappen after that set up. This is going to be pretty toxic. Owners of F1 will be happy with the drama but for anyone that's been following the sport for a while it's...

Michelin restaurants - worth the hype?

If you go for a set lunch menu a lot of them are actually pretty reasonably priced.

What Home Office Software / Hardware Gems have you found?

Krisp (along with RTX voice) was mentiond on BBC Click last year, it looked pretty impressive. Quite an entertaining review too. Barrier sounds similar to Logitech Flow, not something I've tried but seems to be supported by my M590. Just using the button to switch between paired devices has...

Santoku knives and cleavers, any good brands?

It's the one with the granton/scalloped blade. I'm not sure how much difference it makes, some stuff still sticks to the sides.

    Pan Set Required!

From the two you've just linked, I'm not a fan of non-stick coatings for saucepans. Tri ply is nice but I'm not sure it's worth the premium for most people, the standard ("professional") procook stainless steel ones look fine if you must buy a set. Agreed, Vogue stuff is great value.
