Are your monitor speakers muted/@0 volume in OSD ? if not, try that. If that doesn't help and you are using DP, change DP version in OSD (don't remember if possible on this model) to the other available version.

You might want to take a look at dispcalGUI which I find lighter and friendlier than others. It also gives pretty good results. http://dispcalgui.hoech.net/

For those 3 it would be interesting to see their display path. If they went from 16:9 1440p to 21:9 1080p, they would obviously miss the previous screen, but the problem would be mostly the loss of some screen real estate, not the aspect ratio. And real-estate-wise, up to 4K, 21:9 1440p wins...

On the 32", without UI scaling, it might be hard depending on your sight. On the 40", the pitch is almost the same (a tiny bit smaller) as on 27/34" 1440p, so you should be fine. The latter is also a VA display, so for Elite, I would start by testing this one :p
