    OcUK RX5800X3D review thread

Good point, however for games if you are on a budget better to spend it on the gpu, chair, keyboard and mouse before the cpu IMO.

    OcUK RX5800X3D review thread

Yeah I agree Perfect Chaos. This seems a paper launch just to beat Intel. The savvy buyer will be better off waiting for Zen 4 and later graphics cards from AMD and nVidia rather than this or something like the 3090ti. Both seem items designed to get a fool away from his money.

    OcUK RX5800X3D review thread

Is it available for purchase, did a quick search and cannot see it listed for price ?? Given lack of productivity value, just gaming, even if available for purchase is not waiting for Zen 4 a better bet even if needs motherboard etc?

    DDR5 32GB Kits

There was a supplier who had 90 sets of 2x16GB 4800 stuff yesterday going for £157 which indicated the 50% uptick over DDR4. Today I looked and they had 60 sticks at £175 ! Reminds me of the 30xx series gpu fun from nvidia ... Having seen initial Alder Lake leaks I almost regretted...

5800X Boost set to 5050Mhz all cores with AMD Curve Optimizer

Well after 39 pages. and as a person who had an old AMD Athlon and then went Intel and got 5.3GHz Sandybridge air cooled and is now on a 5800X ... should I be arsed trying to oveclock the mofo with optimiser this that or the other for a piddly 200Mhz if that? Or just be satisfied with a great...

    *** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Talking about whether you really notice ray tracing is in 2020 is like really noticing AA during playing Half Life 2 back in the day. Only when you stop and stare do you notice it. When you are involved with the game you don't even care about every pixel, rasturised or ray traced.

    *** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

I'm currently downloading Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl for £5 off GOG ( Steam £10 ... pftt ) and I am guessing my nvidia 970 card will be ok with it. I'll be getting Cyberpunk 2077 actually in the year it is set at this rate ... ;) This has to be the worst big title release in living memory...

Cities: Skylines free on Epic Games Store

I downloaded this as well as Railway Empire that was also free. I've got to the stage in life where trying to learn something and put some effort in is a big hump for me. Don't laugh, you will get there soon... Let's see if I can get over that hump, Skylines gets great reviews. Metro2033...

    3060Ti

This seems a better way of handling the supply than the 3090, 80 and 70. Got to try and keep people happy. AMD and nVidia are not going to be getting Q4 financial results as good as they could have considering the shortages v demand, they screwed up rather.

How will Nvidia react to the AMD 6000 series launch?

*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

True in the past, with the new architecture being based on consoles and so stress tested from AMD and the suppliers, you would think even ported to PC it would be more rebust. I think the 3090 is currently the Titanic given that, at least for gaming. It was never a good buy even before that...

ARCHIVE - *** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION *** - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION

I'm trying to work my way to the end of this thread and add my tuppence worth ( at current exchange rates ) and having problems as the thread is growing quicker than I can read them, but I have to sat I'd like to thank this person for my first chuckle of the day.

    Why don't you guys just....wait a bit?

That explanation would make sense if it was half way through a card cycle or the opposition had nothing to show / soon to be released. You just wanted something big powerful, shiny and new didn't you, go on, admit it .... :D

Oh dear... this might mess things up a bit!! 3070ti and the rest (increased memory)

It won't just be a RAM increase though, it will likely be a speed bump, and by that time perhaps better overclocks depending on Samsung are doing producing them.

    Why don't you guys just....wait a bit?

That's not really a good reason though because if you had waiting that long another month or so would not matter.

    Why don't you guys just....wait a bit?

But then you can't spend days on the forum saying 1. How yours is being delivered today 2. The doorbell just rung. 3. Unboxing and photos for the forum with lots of :D everywhere. 4. Making up and insane overclock to impress people and modestly say you must have been lucky again 5. Let...

    *** AMD ThreadRipper ***

That's why saying, "these are a beast for gaming" is rather misleading, your video card, assuming it is King of the Hill, is the beast for gaming in your kit, well for most games of course. It might be a nice extra but nobody is going to spend this amount of money on them for gaming as the...
