be even better when the VRcover facial thing launches in the UK. desperate to replace the stock one. it's like someone is rubbing my face with a scratchy washing up sponge.
too much lol.
The DAS was £110 with shipping, but worth it imo, the VRcover for the DAS for extra padding inside was £20.
I managed to get some 3d printed sides for free as someone on reddit made them for me.
The audio sounds great and it is so comfortable.
On the flipside after the official update I am far more accurate in beat saber than I was wit the sidequest 90hz patch and games take no longer to load than normal. I do get stutter in the homescreen, but none in any games, and I got the patch the first day it launched.
The latency is shown on the streamer app in windows
yeah, pretty much anything under 40-50ms is ok depending on the game. I wouldn't play fast games like beat saber on it, but games like boneworks, HL Alyx, H3VR all perform amazingly well.
Finally swapped out my elite strap for a DAS recently (I now have 3d printed sides instead of the cable ties but can't be bothered to take a new picture.)
It's so much more comfortable and the wheel doesn't feel like it's going to break everytime I use it, which is nice, elite strap got...
Picture quality is better using link for sure, but for me Virtual desktop is far superior still, wireless is the gamechanger and playing half life Alyx with no tether just feels amazing.
that was part of it, but it meant i was paying more than msrp of a 3080 which i believe is a better card, if i was ppaying less i would be happy and accept the cards downfalls, but the fact i will get a 3080 for the price i paid in a few months madew it not worth it. obviously i had no idea...
Sadly overclockers are one of the only companies in the UK even selling these cards and they know it, and they
the review embargo came out the same minute it went on sale, was zero time to research the card, i clearly did want it, but after looking at reviews the 3080 looks the better card for...
If there were a way of me selling to you without me being out of pocket I would gladly do it.
I'm still worried I will get stuck with a restocking fee even though there is zero chance this card won't fly out of the door within seconds of being returned.
Because A.) I didn't realise they being sold at £80 over the msrp as prices weren't revealed until 2pm and even then all websites were down.
B.) I didn't have time to read reviews until after buying because of the stupid embargo time.and tommw the 3080 looks the better option.
@Gibbo This launch certainly has been crazy, can't imagine what it is like for you guys having thousands of people want to buy from you and having hardly any new cards to sell.
Because you will be selling these extremely quickly I assume there would be no restocking fee when I refuse my delivery...
Tried getting the kids onboard saying how they need rtx Minecraft at the highest fps... She wasn't having it. Lol.
She would flip if she even found out how much I spent on the 6800xt let alone a 3090.
Mind you, I'm returning it so I can just say it was an error or something.
Maybe I will get...
I bought on a whim, and looking at some of the reviews (plus the fact I overpaid)
I'm not even sure it's the best card to get. Card would be great at retail price, but considering I paid more than a 3080s retail price for it and get less features plus less frames at 4k I will return it and just...
Bulls*hit. Because just like with consoles we often get shafted in the UK and quite often pay the same in £.
It could have been £650 MSRP for all I knew.
I tried that with the wife, then she reminded me I was a stay at home Dad and looking after kids doesn't require a 3090.
I beg to differ... but she is the boss. :(
