PSU connection to a GTX 4080

Hi, I have an Asus TUF Gaming 750W 80 Plus Gold Power Supply with a Zotac GTX 4080. Can I use the single high power PCI-E (12VHPWR) cable direct from the PSU or do I need to use the 3-way splitter and feed each PCI-E separately? Thanks in advance

    Asus 790-P Wifi not working

It's a totally new build. I built one in 2015 based on some recommendations in here and it's been an awesome PC so I decided to do the same again. The spec is below. I'm just configuring it before tidying up the cables. The only problem so far is that the AIO cooler doesn't fit in the case using...

    Asus 790-P Wifi not working

Thanks all, I've sorted the Wifi by installing new drivers. It wasn't working on Ethernet as I'm a numpty and the cable wasn't connected to the router.

    Asus 790-P Wifi not working

I'm running Windows 10. I've got a spare Wifi card so I might try plugging that in and updating drivers.

    Asus 790-P Wifi not working

Hi, I've spent the day building a new PC on a Asus Z790-P motherboard. Amazingly it all booted up the first time. The problem I have is it doesn't detect any Wifi on the board and when I plug in an Ethernet cable it doesn't detect the network either. I've done some troubleshooting on...

New build using old Windows key

Hi, Sorry in advance if this is a silly question. I'm just about to commission a new build and have downloaded the windows 10 installation files and loaded them onto a USB. I have a Windows 10 key for my existing PC. What happens with the old PC once I've installed and used the existing...

    Zotac 4080 OC

Hi, I'm just about to order the card below. Is it worth spending the extra £20 for the OC version? 45Mhz difference in the boost clock, do you get anything else? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/zotac-geforce-rtx-4080-trinity-16gb-gddr6x-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-13h-zt.html

    £2500 build in stock

Thanks, it's always difficult knowing where to draw the line. I started out thinking I'll spend £2K and then convinced myself £2.5K is OK, then £2.7K etc. The 4080 should comfortably do everything I need it to for a few years hopefully.

    £2500 build in stock

I recall seeing some YouTube videos saying that in certain setup the GPU was not being detected when using a riser cable. But that was awhile ago now, I guess things have probably moved on.

Are the riser cables still likely to be an issue?

    £2500 build in stock

Thanks, I really like the spec. Could I use the i7-13700K (CP-6B7-IN)? I assume it's the same chip with no onboard graphics? I'm also not fussed about the white theme if there are any other alternatives.

    £2500 build in stock

Hi, I want to buy/build a new PC delivered in time for Xmas, so parts need to be in stock. I just need the PC, no ancillaries. My main activity is video editing using Davinci resolve, VR, and gaming at 2k (MSFS, Cyberpunk). My current system spec is below. I don't plan on using any of the...

    Buy now or wait?

Hi, I have a budget of around £2500 to replace my existing PC. The specs are in my signature. I don't intend on keeping anything other than the 256 GB SSD with OS and the 2TB HDD. My budget is just for the PC, I don't need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. I game at 2K on games like MSFS...

    Upgrade or new build £1500

Thanks. Good question, on reflection my current system does everything I ask of it and pretty well. I guess I'm asking in both options, either replace (£1500) or upgrade (£900) would I end up with a much better system? If not then I may be better off just building him a 1080p budget build for...

    Upgrade or new build £1500

Hi, I would really appreciate your help. My budget is £1500 and for that, I need to get a modest gaming PC for my son, mainly to play things like RoadBlox, Fortnite & Minecraft at 1080p and potentially upgrade my 5 year old PC which I use for video editing in Davinici Resolve, VR, MSFS...

£400 Upgrade for 4.5 Yr old 8 Pack package

Thanks, good call. I hadn't thought about a bigger SSD. I keep my video files and steam library on the Seagate Firecuda so if I can keep them on an SSD I assume they will probably render faster.

£400 Upgrade for 4.5 Yr old 8 Pack package

Hi, I have a birthday coming up and thought I would maybe spend a few quid on my setup. I built it over Xmas 2015 from a 8 pack bundle. It's been a great computer but I don't have a very good up to date knowledge of PC components. Only real issues is I get a RAM warning on Half Life...
