    Upgrading a friends PC

Thanks ANDARIAL. I'm surprised there arent any with the 140mm fans, I might be able to swop my nhd-14 into his case and keep the H90 for myself. Seems like a downgrade for me tho?

    Upgrading a friends PC

Hi Guys, I have a friend with the following specs: fx 6300 at 4.0GHz 8gb DDR3 (cant remember brand type) Very cheap gigabyte mobo (no heatsinks over VRM) MSI 7950 500W OCZ-CXS500W PSU It plays all of his fav games relatively well but I have some old parts I was meant to sell and they have...

Help me find funny PUBG video

Hi Guys, I came across a video of someone playing PUBG's and it's probably less than a minute long. It shows a guy shooting at someone and missing every shot, every few seconds the footage flips to some guys face showing pure concentration and pressure. As the video goes on it keeps flipping...

Nice one, maybe check the vrm heatsink is making good contact too. Cant think of its name but when you take off the cooler theres still the block covering the vram etc? Just loosen the screws to that and then rescrew them down.

Yes they are high, especially if you are at 100% fan speed. You may need to reseat the cooler. (repaste while you do this too)

Does it still happen with everything at stock?(but keep the powerlimit slider to 50) I remember something similar happening with my msi r9 290. It was fine, clocks sticking high, but once i reached +50mV the clock began to flucuate when in games. It was as if powertune was knocking it back, as...

Yes BS Dave as passey89 said you just add some text to the end of a copy of the launcher, more info in the thread Matt linked to a few posts back. What drivers are you running Alexrose1uk? +100mV AS LONG AS TEMPS ARE OK. Then once you know your safe temps wise you can go higher but...

Yea that makes sense, if my load vddc is around 1.31V with +200mV in afterburner do you think I could push a few more mV onto my card Matt? Currently below 80 degrees on the core and mid 80's on the vrm( vrm1 I think, the others like 55) with a 290 tri x

Yea my ocd really kicks in when I don't get nice looking numbers! Thats why I'm trying to get my core upto 1200Mhz. On 1175Mhz so far:D Now that you have your lowest vddc, start to increase your core clock a bit. Try bumping it by 15/20 Mhz. Undervolt and overclock

You can get "surgical spirit" in most well known chemists, that does the trick.

Does it sound like it"s grinding? I had a few of those fans and about 2 or 3 ended up making a grinding noise after a few months. Think you can oil the bearings to fix them.

Sunshinewelly some oc models will have a higher sock voltage I believe. Its to make sure all of them can hit the clocks from the factory. For example my msi r9 290 showed +13mV in afterburner. I would maybe stop where you are i dont think that psu is that good. Can you send me a pic of the...

Yea try putting in -45 and it should bump to -40. It drops a bit from what you select sometimes. Nice wee drop but look at your fan speed too, its also dropping so cooler temps and slower fans :-). Try with your fan speed manually set to 60% or 70%

Can you tell me the exact model of your psu? Should be fine as long as it is a half decent branded one. It means an additional 10mV will be applied to the vddc of the card when its under load basically. If you download gpu-z and look at the vddc box it will tell you the core voltage under load...

No problem, out of curiosity what temps are you getting at the minute? If they seem high you could try a custom fan profile? I had an msi r9 290 and I thought the fans were silent to 55% fan speed. Remember the max rpm of the twin fzr is about 2800 rpm(I think?) so it may just be that with your...

You can keep going untill you see artifacts or your pc freezes during a gpu intensive game/stress test. Just make sure you dont have "apply overclock on startup" ticked in afterburner. Tomb raider bench mark on loop for a few hours or bf4 with 150% resolution scaling is a decent indicator of...

I would be interested in your bios too. :-) I can get to 1150 core, 1600 mem on +150mV but 1200 with +200mV artifacts a bit. Actual load voltage is about 1.3V. Think im safe to push to 1.35V on air?(tri x cooler) Fan profile keeps it under 80 and my vrms are mid/high 80s when pushing +200mV...
