Well I got mine today and well.... FINALLY I have a decent monitor. practically ZERO backlight bleed, no dirt or dust stuck in the screen and no dead pixels. Even the uniformity is good, not perfect mind you but as close as you are going to get with a non professional art display.
Seriously...
I just hope it's worth the wait. So tempted to cancel and try something else but got a feeling I should wait it out this time.
I did ask in the CS forum about it and was told as the stock was due in the end of last month it could be anyday now. I guess that is probably why there isn't an...
Anyone having any issues with White uniformity now? I grabbed one at launch and sent it back because the top 3rd of the screen was noticeably darker with a slight yellow tint.
Might not be a deal breaker for some but I noticed it the second I maximized a youtube page. I tried to ignore it but...
Totally agree. This is the reason I've avoided this particular monitor. Had many bad experiences with so called "high end" g-sync monitors that the ridiculous cost of this one is to much to gamble.
I bought the Dell U2711 about 5 years ago now and it has been perfect. First try to.
I tried to...
As jonchaz asked, can we get an update on what's going on with this monitor?.
It's not an urgent thing of course but as it stands right now a big chunk of money for it came out of the bank account late November if I remember right and of course it's now feb yet I still don't know what's going...
In short yes they were that bad. Dirt stuck in the screen, bad backlight bleed and pretty poor IPS glow. One of the ones I had looked like a sunrise in the bottom right part of the screen. I'm used to IPS screens so I know it shouldn't be there.
However... I've heard better reports from the...
Well in that price range if I wanted 1080p Id choose:

for 1440p I'd stretch the budget a bit and choose...
Yo
I've currently got a XB271HU on pre order and well... there doesn't seem to be any clue to when it actually is gonna arrive in stock. It did say 29th Jan to begin with but that has come and gone now. Other sites quoting 25th Feb.
I'm debating cancelling the pre order and going for the Dell...
Ill hang on till monday if it doesn't ship today. Getting a bit eager myself now. 10 months of trying to get an acceptable sample of a monitor is taking its toll.
So.... 29th Jan still looking good?
Don't want to get my hopes up too much yet. Hoping to score a good one and finally put this monitor upgrade thing to rest.
You want a list? :)
Bad backlight bleed, excessive IPS glow, dirt stuck in the screen and dead/stuck pixels.
An exceptionally high return rate across multiple retailers to boot.
Any I've missed? :D
Went through 4 of em before giving up myself.
If you hover the mouse cursor over the pre order label on the item page it gives an ETA of 29th Jan.
I've noticed it popping up elsewhere too which makes me think it might come sooner. Fingers crossed.
I agree though it does suck a bit that you pay in full before its even shipped. Only online...
Does the same go for vertical lines? as in black lines sometimes appearing during fast motion on lighter coloured objects etc?
As in this dudes video. You can just about make em out in the search bar of the facebook page he is looking at if you fullscreen...
Not even the slightest hint given by them either.
It can't be too far off as they are appearing in other parts of Europe.
They must have some idea or the product wouldn't be listed yet.
Still no ETA. Must have some idea by now surely.
I wasn't gonna bother with this one after the all the crap with the previous one but early reports seem pretty good.
Missing G-sync right now!
If its considered a fault yes, oddly enough I wasn't offered a refund on shipping on 2 that were and the others had to go back CCR/DSR as excessive IPS glow, vertical lines and very bad white uniformity are arguable.
I hope so.
I'm tired of playing the panel lottery. Wasted almost £200 on return shipping since April. Many different panels all with faults or just poor quality.
Fingers crossed this is the one :)
Surely retailers must have some idea when they are getting these by now? It's not looking good for this year.
I'm holding out trying the X34 as I'd rather stay 16:9. As well for cost purposes :)
