Corsair's CLC tech is provided by Asetek, whereas be Quiet's AIOs are made by Alphacool. The former uses aluminium radiators with a mix of other metals, and compensates against galvanic corrosion by adding anticorrosives, while the latter uses pure copper.
Also, Asetek CLCs do not allow you to...
Compared to a PCIE ethernet card or the built-in motherboard ethernet port, how much additional latency, if any, would a wired USB 3.0 network adapter such as this one introduce?
Also, how much additional CPU overhead, if any, would a gigabit USB 3.0 adapter require to operate at full speed...
According to Asus, the cashback offer ended on the 7th June: http://www.asus-promotion.com/cpu/en/uk
OCUK's page, on the other hand, has 30th June as the ending date: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lp/asus-cashback.html
Is the cashback still available?
A 1080 Ti will definitely produce more heat (250-300W compared to the 1080's 180W). Since you're using an mATX case, you should get an AIO cooler or the FE cooler. It is also the best upgrade for your current PC, because if you spent the money on a new CPU like the 7700K and faster RAM, you...
String, what's the name of the case shown in your post?

Look at your fan speed: 0%. 50C is normal if the fans are stopped. Try increasing it to 20% and it should drop to below 40C. The Gigabyte 980 G1's fans never stop spinning, so its idle temperature will be lower.
I have some bad news: the extra 4 year of warranty applies only to the Xtreme editions, not the regular Aorus.

I have a 2.5-slot graphics card that's a little too close to the sound card, which is obstructing the airflow. The sound card is almost completely covered by a plastic case. The only thing missing is a backplate, so it still can't be handled like a real external sound card, but I haven't yet...
I have an internal soundcard, the Creative X-Fi Titanium HD, that normally connects to a PCIE x1 port. I want to free up some space in my case, so I was thinking of using it externally. What's the best way of doing this?
Would a PCIE x1 extender cable be a good idea? Would it affect latency or...
"Marmite" just means that it's controversial and there are people who dislike it on one side and like it on the other. I like to max out my games at 60FPS, and that means 1440p is a far more suitable resolution.
My reasoning is that higher resolution does not translate to better graphics. Take...
The GTX 680 is a 195W TDP card, which isn't significantly more power hungry compared to the high-end nVidia cards of today (a GTX 1080 has a TDP of 180W). With a triple-slot cooler like the Direct CU II, 90C is far too hot. You should definitely try to reapply the thermal paste.
Ok, I checked nVidia's website, and it seems that they use August to October as their Q3: http://nvidianews.nvidia.com/news/nvidia-announces-financial-results-for-third-quarter-fiscal-2017
I based my dates on the quarters used by the US government, and I falsely assumed that all US companies...
It's Q3 2017 right now, with Q4 beginning on the 1st July. That means the Volta card would have to come by the end of June. But nVidia released their GTX 1080 11Gbps variant literally yesterday. And several companies like Galax and EVGA have yet to release their custom 1080 Tis. In fact, last I...
If that article is right, there'll be a Volta card by the end of June this year, i.e. a 3-4 month gap between the 1080 Ti and the first Volta. But remember that the first Maxwell card also came out 3 months after the 780 Ti, and it was the 750 Ti. The first Volta card wouldn't even come close to...
