Can anyone help me with strange Division 2 fps drops on Vega 56 please?

What mv do you have set up for P7 and the HBM? If that's too high it could be throttling. High vrm temps would do the same. With those big drops though it does sound like some strange Chill and drivers thing - what fps do you have chill set at? You could raise that or disable it.

    Vega 56 PSU query

The 6 pin from your PSU will only be 75w - the 8 pin will be 150w. You can get a 6pin to 8 pin adaptor, but it will still only supply 75w.` Your card can also draw 75w from the pcie slot. You can try it, but you may well experience stability issues. A good PSU will see you through several...

People in the V56 forum, who had flashed their bios to the LC ones, were having problems with the new drivers. They were fixed by flashing back to the correct bios for the card - which for some resulted in higher clocks. Did you flash your bios to liquid cool, or is it a liquid cool card? An air...

If you want to shave some fan noise off - try using the power saving bios (switch to the left) - set P7@1672/1050, P6@1632/1000, mem @1080/1000, powerslider +50%, fans on auto. That gave me a steady 1610mhz clock speed (with dips to 1600) and a quiet fan speed of 1130rpm, temps under 70deg, and...

I found the 19.3 drivers cured those irritating hang hangs and black screens when switching to full screen watching videos. For things that only use the card lightly I found locking P1 or P2 as min stopped random black screen crashes - I think they're down to the mem speed jumping up and down...

My nitro+ is fine for 4k gaming for me. Not so much for fast twitch gamers who want very high fps. You should get 60 or so fps, with the eye candy turned up, I'd say - apart from on poor console ports which will run poorly on most cards. Undervolt and push the power slider to +50%

Could be a driver issue with sea of thieves - especially if it's running ok on other things I was running P7 @1672mhz/1050mv on powersave bios, mem @1080mhz/1000mv, powerslider +50% - gave a clock of 1610mhz, good fps and fan speed of 1130rpm

Memory. I got artificing like that and turned down my HBM from 1100 to 1080 and it's rock solid like that. You'l probably get it up to 1080 - if anything I got better in game FPS like that than at 1100. I have mine at 1000mv

Try the power saver bios - on the 19.3.1 drivers my fans were still spinning @ 1130rpm I'll have a look at power draw tomorrow - maybe that was up a bit. Got a shiny new card to play with.

Had to return my Gigabyte Windforce 2060 card due to noise, what should I replace it with?

The Sapphire V56 Pulse would definitely be worth it over the 1660ti. The 2060 is about £100 more and you only get 6gb mem - at 4k I find most games use more than that. I'm a professional sound engineer and musician, so having a quiet pc is important to me - the Vega 64 nitro + is very quiet -...

Had to return my Gigabyte Windforce 2060 card due to noise, what should I replace it with?

You want to spend the extra tenner on the Sapphire pulse - different class. The undervolting is done in the Radeon driver software - just copy someone else's settings, back it off a little - should take 10 mins - 30 secs if you know what you're doing.

Had to return my Gigabyte Windforce 2060 card due to noise, what should I replace it with?

The Sapphire Vega 56 pulse should be quiet, once undervolted. My V64 nitro+ keeps a clock speed of over 1600mhz, fast FPS with the fans spinning at a whispery 1130rpm At £279 the V56 pulse is going to be faster than the 1660ti I'd use the power saver bios on that, undervolt it and push the power...

The Sapphire Vega 56 pulse is at an excellent price here. Undervolted, it will punch well above it's price range.

*** AMD GO WILD: VEGA 56 THE TRUE DEAL OF THE CENTURY AND IT JUST GOT BETTER!!!

Isn't the 6 pin output rated at 75w, whereas your 8 pin output will be 150w? Add 75w from the pcie slot and that's 300w - if you're undervolting you should be nicely inside that, but something to be aware of.

The hbm voltage doesn't control the hbm voltage - as you say it's set - but it sets the voltage floor for the GPU and HBM ( I don't totally understand it). At 900mv you're probably throttling the power to the memory, which is why you don't get improved fps over 1025mhz on the hbm. Just try it at...

If you're getting coil whine at 60 fps I'd contact CS through the forums. The SF 750 gold will serve you well though - I have one - never heard the fan spin up once on it in over 3 years.

4927 @1080 extreme just now on my powersave setting. Checked my temps and fan speed with case fans on low - still runs up to 69 deg max, fans running around 1115-1130ish, with the occasional burst up to 1540ish. Runs @1600-1615mhz Bios on powersave - P7 1672/1050. mem 1080/1000 Case fractal R5 - 140 fan blowing over card - aio 240 cooler for cpu.

Coil whine at 60FPS would suggest a problem with the card. I have a Fractal R5 case which has a 140 fan blowing over the card - I'd knocked the fan controller onto full without noticing - so I'll check temps later with the case fans on low.
