Lasting, budget phone with notification light and compass

I agree and the battery should be in excellent condition. I think as long as the company is good, which it appears to be, then buying a high grade new model makes a lot of sense.

I've not heard of them but the Trust Pilot reviews are good. I think it's a good phone and price. I would be tempted myself if I were looking.

Whats the best budget phone for a lite user

**** dude. I just saw this review. So maybe the p8 lite 2017 isn't such a good deal. I thought it would be like the p9 lite which was a great phone, it was also £150 + £10 from vodafone. That reviewer loved the p9 lite (review). So I assumed the p8 lite 2017, that has the same spec's as the p9...

Whats the best budget phone for a lite user

The first link for £199.95 would be the one I would get out of the two. It says it's the "2017" model, which is important because the older huawei p8 lite had terrible battery life and isn't nearly as good. But it's confusing because BOTH say: "The P8 Lite features a stunning 5 inch HD display"...

Whats the best budget phone for a lite user

If you can stretch your budget you could get the huawei p8 lite (2017) link. It's currently £150 + £10 topup (link) + you probably have to get it unlocked via buying an unlock code on ebay. Samsung galaxy j3 2016 vs huawei p8 lite 2017: (specs wars) CPU (max) 1.5 GHz vs 2.1 GHz Display...

Lasting, budget phone with notification light and compass

If you don't mind a used phone and not going for a contract phone, there's the moto z play for about £250 + £6 postage from amazon.de (very good condition) (link). Pro's: SD625, 3GB ram, 32GB storage, compass, almost stock android, 3510 mAh battery, AMOLED screen, font facing speakers, fast...

Lasting, budget phone with notification light and compass

The honor 9 is a very nice phone imo. I think it's exclusive to the 3 network in the UK. It starts at £19 a month but I don't think it allows tethering or at least not via hotspot. I don't know if using usb tethering would work. The cheapest plan to allow hotspot tethering is £14.50 for six...

Lasting, budget phone with notification light and compass

huawei p8 lite (2017)? £150 + £10 topup from vodafone. Probably needs to be unlocked, or for £180 + £10 buy it unlocked from giffgaff. Pros: 3GB, compass, kirin 655 (comparable to SD625). Cons: only 16GB, non-stock android. I don't know for sure if it has a notification LED but this site says...

    Smartphone for a non-techie user?

Another option is to buy the phone and data/mins/texts separately. There's a deal that expires today: Three sim only - unlimited texts/minutes, 4GB data £9 per month (12 month contract). Could pair it with the Sony Xperia X Compact (sim free, unlocked): £13.60 x 24 + £25 upfront. Total for the...

    Smartphone for a non-techie user?

maybe the iphone SE? (link). £19 upfront + £15 x 24 for 500MB data, 300mins, unlimited text. Total amount: £379. Or £19 upfront + £19 x 24 for 1GB, unlimited text/mins. Total: £475. You could also just afford the iphone 6. It has a 4.7" screen instead of the SE's 4". The iphone SE is a great...

    Phone with decent battery

Idk, should be decent. Nice phone tho. edit: GSMarena's battery test of honor 9 link. For comparison: huawei p9 battery test , samsung s8 battery test, HTC m9 battery test.

    Phone with decent battery

The huawei p8 lite (2017) maybe? it should have fairly good battery life. It has a 3000mAh battery and a 5.2" display. link edit: can get from vodafone for 150 + 10 topup. Probably have to get it unlocked though. link

    Recommended specs for a smartphone?

The huawei p8 lite (2017) also looks good. It has a Kirin 655 which is almost, if not, as well performing as the SD625. It also has 3GB of ram. The one on Argos selling for 119.99 + 10 topup is probably the old model and they got the spec's wrong. So don't buy that one unless you know for sure...

    Recommended specs for a smartphone?

It's quite subjective because likely some people are fussier than others. I had a phone with the Snapdragon 615 and I wasn't impressed with the performance. From reviews I have seen I would go for at least a Snapdragon 625. It has had a lot of positive feedback from reviewers, with them saying...

    **** The Official Lenovo P2 Thread ****

I agree that manfuacturers should make phones with specs like these but with a great camera. Maybe they are worried about canabilizing their high end model sales. I think you are right, most people would prefer to buy a cheaper model with decent specs (like this phone has) and a great camera for...
