gpu issue, if you have a spare try that and if the cards really old you could try oven baking the card, lots of 'How to's' on Youtube, it should bring it back to life.

i have a PCI wifi card to put in my kids pc but cannot seem to find a driver without having to subscribe to offers. Win7 does not have the driver, nor does win update. WLVP2454NM 54G seems to be made by a Taiwanese company called Plotec could anyone help out with finding a driver...

if that doesn't work you may need to reflow the motherboard. the cheapest way is to oven bake it but there is no guarantee on how long it will last before needing to be done again.

are the wires connected to the wifi card properley? you may have knocked them when taking it apart.

i've just installed Ubuntu onto an HP5000 laptop but cannot seem to get the wifi working :confused: it states i need to turn the wifi swith on but when i press the wifi button nothing happens :( any advice would be appreciated.

for some reason i turned the laptop on this morning and its working fine :D why do you not sell the SSD and get a large IDE drive? the only reason i got one is because the IDE ribbon connector for the Advent 7090 is as scarse as rocking horse doo doo

i ordered and IDE to sata caddy yesterday and it arrived this morning and got my Advent working :D

it depends on which pin is missing from the IDE side of the adapter and as the sata connections on the drive are not in the middle it may push the drive too far one way. depending on how much it is it maybe worth getting it to try

but how will the ssd fit? if you connect the ide pins in then the sata connection will be too low to connect to the drive. If the connectors were inline in may work but they are offset

i think you'll find that won't fit in a laptop too wide and also will make the ssd to high/low to go in

it may be the N68S-ucc as i bought 1 from the forums that would only go to the splash screen and no further even though OCuk had tested it and said it was working to bios and windows. 2 people tried and could not get it to work. i have since bought another one that works but am dubious about...
