precisely, even with the Gene and Extreme, Asus uses no doublers on those boards but rather they split one signal PWM signal into 2 powerstages (IR3555M), hence with the Gene and Extreme it is "5+2" vrm desgin. The powerstages used on those board have their own driver hence by passing a doubler...

I haven't tested the Asus ITX one but I have seen it did 3800 on at least 3 dies, Samsung B-die (obviously), Hynix C-Die and Micron 3rd gen die.

To be fair, 4 dimm boards seem to be much worse on dealing with 3600+ ddr4. For 2 dimm boards like the b450i from asus/msi I have seen them doing 3600-3800 stable, not only on Samsung B-die but also on Hynix C-die (stock 3200-3600mhz) and Micron 3rd gen die (stock 2400Mhz)

1.38v DRAM + 1.1275v SOC Voltage, timming is not tweaked fully but 3800Mhz seems alright. RAM is patriot viper 3733 cas 17.

that board is the late answer for the Asrock Z170M OC Formula, one could also see that board as an upgraded Impact Z170. I'm hyped for that board!

Why extreme?

I agree with this 100%. Leaving the cpu attached like this and sending away, the person doesn't care much.

the ITX has better vrm than the Mortal both in term on efficiency and max power output. Both should do fine for a stock 2700x or PBOed. Other features, I don't know.

@EsaT Rds(on) doesn't need to be low on high side fets, its the turn on/off time is important for this fets.
