    Anyone got braces?

For anyone considering braces, there is a fantastic new system thats slowly making its way to the UK. Similar to conventional braces but the brackets are almost invisible. But the bonus is that most cases take only 6 months! So no metal braces and no long treatment times like with invisalign...

Last time you went to the dentist?

I love our country's attitude to dentists... Anyway, it'll cost you £17 for an exam and scale & polish. Pennies compared to say what a non professional, say a plumber, would charge for his time

Last time you went to the dentist?

Funny all these people that don't go because they're not in pain and feel that because they brush their teeth twice a day then they'll be ok. Truth is, brushing has little effect on whether you get decay or not, sure the fluoride helps, but if you've got a crappy diet and frequently ingest sugar...

A little advice needed, re: dentist

If the tooth had a fracture beneath the gum line then the tooth was more or less for the bin from the very beginning, I'd love to know what the other dentist would have done - with exception of extruding the root with orthodontics and placing a post crown which would still leave the tooth with a...

A little advice needed, re: dentist

Fair enough, suppose it happens in every trade though. Cowboy builders, dodgy car mechanics etc etc. Just got to try and sort the wheat from the chaff.

A little advice needed, re: dentist

I'd bet you read the dailymail! Anyways, if this was my patient then I'd likely have taken an xray, firstly to check for a fracture but also to act as a baseline to compare followup xrays with. It is difficult to say the original dentist was negligent though, if there was minimal trauma then...
