cheers for heads up hex
but after following many threads on asrock support forum ,i think i'll wait a while for this actual bios to mature a bit (the b350 boys have had nightmares with adjusting things like cpu speed and ram) and added to that its launch time headaches again with many many...
yep
dosnt give anything to mention
some people are saying its messing with p states (allthough it seems fine with mine)
all ive noticed is whereas my voltage would stay constant at 1.3volts and 3.8 ghz
it now reports in cpuz that at a constant 3.8 the volts drop to 0.480 on idle
which is very...
from the posts i see it was more an issue with
1: people didnt know how to use DOS (and early bios files being dos only , no option for instant flash)
2: people used the windows based flasher (now removed from the asrock bios files)
3: people not resetting to defaults BEFORE flashing new file
yes it seems the old 2 min trick/habit of setting bios to defaults BEFORE flashing new bios was in fact the best advise for that guy
(it was resolved by a default reboot then selecting his profile thingie
yes i enter pstates settings (which selects 1.306 on option 27 ) then back into the normal advanced page select vcore/cpu to fixed volts and load level calibration to level 2 this does a great job of holding it very very close to 1.3 volts
i dont set cpu voltage on the advanced page (and it the...
over on the asrock support forum a guy was having issues with the fans ,the advice of set bios to defaults save and exit fixed the issue, he then proceeded to custom set them again to desired settings
(i think the bug/issue was due to updating his bios and it mucked about with the fan control as...
if its any help i set just p states
9c (3900 mhz)
8
27 ( 1. 306 volts)
then chuck cpu voltage on advanced page to *fixed* and LLc level 2
its worked since day one for me and bios versions 1.6/2.0/2.3/3.0
this is also a taichi with a r7 1700 non X
its does seem a little ryzen launch all over though
buy the cpu ,and wait for the boards to arrive in the uk much later
(not that i intend to get a TR, im quite happy with the ryzen 7 and taichi )
i enjoy reading the news though and TR indeed looks promising
good luck in your future adventures...
try a little more volts on ram ,soc circa 1 volt and relax the timings a little
heres a link to the asrock support forum showing one of the mods getting 3200 on the other 370 board
it might give you some pointers

yes yes
as im lazy i tried a more simple cl14 setting first
it was the day after when it wouldnt cold boot i then tried a few more tricks
its pride more than necessity the pc does all i need and far more even if it was running stock ,but i did want to test out some free gains from the ram if...
i gave up lol
got upto trying same timings at 3200 but at 2t, procodt 60 ohms 1.375 ram volts, 1.2 soc etc etc
still wont cold boot at cl14
any speed over 3200 and it boot loops with the beeps of death
im guessing maybe the ram isnt the best picked set of chips
@ hex
i seem to find random audio issues with my taichi
its usually windows has selected the incorrect output device option
ive had this issues a few times
front outputs
and rear outputs
cured by trial and error changing device in the realtek software inside windows
i find it a little ironic
that the asrock support forum is broke at the moment
last two days it can take 10-20 seconds just to refresh page, tonight its just unresponsive or redirects you to a white page saying forums broke
and this is what will greet someone with a broken asrock product.....a...
yeah the asrock support forum is full of users getting worse results with the offical releases than either beta or earlier versions .................. kinda ironic
the fatality and gaming 4 seems worse hit with later bios being far worse for thier ram
