Type - C USB DAC help

To get the most out of an external DAC you will certainly want to bypass Android's resampling, and that requires a player that has the drivers to do so. USB Audio Player Pro as been my player of choice for the last few years for this reason, and the fact that it integrates the ability to stream...

smallest speakers relative to sound quality

What can be gleaned from this thread is that there's no shortage of options to choose from. I doubt you'd be disappointed with any of the options mentioned. Short of being able to audition them, you might be best refining your list on the basis of features and functionality i.e., do you...

smallest speakers relative to sound quality

I've had the A2+ on my desk setup for near-field listening for several years now, and got them for the same reason as what you're essentially looking for - a small footprint. They're very clean, clear and on the neutral side with the only lacking aspect being their bass presence, but given their...

    Better than SE846?

£75 for 846? I paid 10x that for mine! That chap could have sold them for 5x what he did, but then it wouldn't have been so good for you ;) On the flip side; if you ever decided to move up the chain then you could most likely (certainly) turn the 846's for significant profit. I agree with rids...

Ah, so you've finally received the Owls. How are you finding them? Personally, I find them one of the best closed backs in the <£1,000 bracket.

Unfortunately I haven't had any experience with the Hawks, but from the majority of comments it seems they're pretty similar to the Owls but with less treble presence, wider soundstage and more pronounced mid-bass. I think you'll be pleased with them. The one thing that struck me the most, and...

    SP2500 upgrade

I've also got the A2+ in my desktop setup; great speakers with a small footprint. Plus, if the OP wanted more bass he could always connect a separate subwoofer later on via the RCA outputs.

Been a while since logging on here, but since my last visit have added the AudioQuest NightOwl & Shure SE846. Wasn't planning on adding another closed-back (NightOwl) already owning the Shure SRH1540, but when I saw their price drop to £350 for a new set I couldn't resist. Opinion? My favourite...

    New PC speaker advice

You're right. I always assumed it would/did seeing as the A2+ has digital in. Then it's the BT3s as an all-in-one solution, or the LSR305s with a bluetooth adapter.

    New PC speaker advice

The Audioengine A5+ are an excellent pair of speaks that have a DAC built-in. I have the smaller A2+ in my desktop setup and they're excellent for near field listening, albeit the bass extension is lacking, but they are physically small so physics is to be blamed rather than the speakers...

Show Off Your Audio Equipment (Thread)

I'd love to get some speakers like that ^, but living in a Victorian terraced and being able to trace the exact movements of my neighbours doesn't bode well... In the interim, this keeps me nicely occupied.

    Good headphones for music production?

Those might just be the worst looking pair of headphones I've laid eyes on. That said, I'd still rather wear those than the Jecklin Floats! What influenced you to switch to the Sens over the AKGs, starman?

They are indeed, as Ayahuasca says, the Focal Elears, and I would recommend them to you, Kanifee. Luckily I live close to Audio Sanctuary and, apart from being a terrible discovery for my wallet (and girlfriend :p), they have most of the TOTL headphones in store for testing. Even from the more...

1540 owners; get a pair of the sheepskin leather HM5 pads. They're fantastic.

    Best noise cancelling headphones?

Undisputed? No. Still one of the best? Yes. It's between the Sonys that rids posted above and the QC35s. From the reviews I've read it seems the general opinion is that Sony bests Bose for sound quality, they're on par for their noise-cancelling abilities, both are extremely comfortable but the...

What headphone cable companies do you chaps recommend? I saw a post on one of the threads here the other day which seemed to be UK based, and did cables for the Shure SRH series but I can't find that post anymore. Knew I should have bookmarked it! These are the one's that aren't it: lavricables...

Sennheiser HD650 - The classic beauty in a grey dress Appreciation thread!

Allo chaps, giving serious consideration to becoming a member of this esteemed group. I've a Little Dot MK2 with Mullard tubes (forget which) and a Mojo, any impressions on how these compare to, say, the Marantz Dac 1? See that some of you have one or the other, but has anyone had experience...
