If it makes any difference, I bought my 1080ti a few years ago from a miner who had it for 6 months. The card is still perfect today so I wouldn't be bothered about doing it again.
As far as these prices are going, I really want an upgrade but I do not want to pay any more than £500. Looks...
I managed a more than playable framerate (40-60 fps) on a 1080ti @4k with a 2700 on med to high settings. If you don't go too mental with the settings you should be ok
Another option if the system is pretty old is to invest in a new mobo, RAM and get one of the new AMD APUs like the 5600G or 5700G. The system would cost more in the short term but in the long run would have more longevity. Plus the iGPU in the 5600G is surprisingly good and probably on par...
I got my 1080ti for £460 second hand a few years ago the last time the crypto bubble went. I'm hoping for a similar situation next year, or else I might just run the 1080ti to the end of time, as I'm not paying any more than that for anything. Other than that I've got my PS5 and Oculus Quest...
I wouldn't worry about Windows 11 compatibility, there will be workarounds for sure.
Regards the 970, depends how old it is. My mate had one pretty much from launch and it died this year, I don't think I'd be comfortable buying a GPU that old now unless it's had very little use. Depending on...
Hey thanks very much for that reply. The 5700XT they reference in the charts is probably the closest match to my 1080ti and based on that I'm not going to see much difference unless I upgrade to Ampere.
That's the CPU choking, nothing to do with the GPU. IMO you need a minimum of a 6 core CPU for streaming. You'd need a new mobo and CPU as Haswell was limited to 4 cores on the mainstream. The most you could do on that system would be to buy a devil's canyon 4790k but they are a bit...
Hi
I've got a Ryzen 2700 @ stock paired with a 1080ti driving a 1440p 144hz panel.
Ryzen 2700
MSI Tomahawk B450
16gig Teamforce 3200 CL16 memory
EVGA 1080ti SC2
I used to game at 4K so this issue was not a problem as I would be GPU pretty much solidly, but since moving to 144hz at 1440p I...
Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a normal B450 tomahawk with a 2700 installed. If I upgraded the bios to the latest version my CPU would still run fine as it only takes away support for Ryzen 1000 series, am I right?
Yeah I nabbed a 2700 before summer last year with the view of longevity on the core front. I don't game at a low resolution so the IPC difference compared to the 3600 doesn't bother me and I think the extra two cores will go a long way. I'll drop in a 4000 once they are dirt cheap to drop into...
Just a quick update - I upgraded to a Ryzen 2700 and DDR4 3200 last month, Forza Horizon 3 is now achieving a 60 lock at 4k at ultra on a 1080ti whereas previously with my xeon 3470 and the same GPU it was dropping to low 50s sometimes depending on the scene. Proof in the pudding right there...
Hi all,
I bought this set of ram for a new zen 2700 build a couple of weeks ago
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team-group-vulcan-t-force-16gb-2x8gb-ddr4-pc4-25600c16-3200mhz-dual-channel-kit-black-grey-tlgd-my-09s-tg.html
This is my first zen build and after setting xmp profile 2 on my b450...
I got a 2700, B450 Tomahawk and 16GB 3200mhz Teamgroup RAM for £328 last week. I won the 2700 on fleabay for £150 on auction, nowt wrong with the chip. If you are willing to take the plunge second hand is a no brainer sometimes. You will probably be looking at £250 ish due to gouging for the...
I'd suggest getting 2x 4gb sticks again of the same memory. Sounds like when you tried putting in another 16gb on top of your 8gb the mobo borked. There's maybe a 16gb limit on RAM for your motherboard
Nice. Just goes to show there's some serious savings to be made on memory if you don't mind tweaking a bit. I opted for 3200 cl16 from ocuk yesterday as i cba with the faff
