How do I get my TV to use my 5.1 PC setup???

I've actually gotten it sorted, I picked up a Soundblaster Z which has an optical in, set the TV to DTS PCM and bingo bango, £20 bodge fix. The room it's in is 8ft x 10ft, I possibly should have mentioned - temporary digs while a nasty divorce rumbles on :( Spending a fortune on a full blown AV...

How do I get my TV to use my 5.1 PC setup???

Cheers, I'd wagered this would be the case. I'll start hunting for a nice second hand Soundblaster card in the new year :)

How do I get my TV to use my 5.1 PC setup???

A quick search seems to indicate these work the wrong way round, taking a USB-C and outputting to optical, I need the other way round. I have an optical output and need to get this in via the PC to a DTS decoder hooked up to the optical out :( Unless I'm missing something? Great idea, just the...

How do I get my TV to use my 5.1 PC setup???

I was thinking that too, but how?? the PC has no (current) optical inputs, and I've searched for convertors however I'm limited with current hardware, would I need some form of hardware decoder to get this to work? I've seen certain sound cards with optical in and outs, would I need something...

How do I get my TV to use my 5.1 PC setup???

Per title. I've recently been forced through failure to replace my trusty Z-5500 speakers with the Z-906, having gotten the DTS working from PC to amp I'm impressed with the sound. My question is this - I have a TV connected through the headphone jack to the PC but this is not taking advantage...

Line in issues since latest Windows 11 update

Basically, I have a tv plugged into the mic/line in port on the rear of the PC, after the latest W11 update I noticed I had no sound, the fix was to toggle the Exclusive Mode under the line-in's properties which immediately recovered the sound from the TV. Fine. Or so I thought... Each time I...

Power supplies, single and multi-rail and high wattage GPU

Hiya, I was running a Seasonic Focus+ Gold rated at 850W but was experiencing random power cut-outs due to OPC being twitchy with these units, I did a lot of digging and found it was a common complaint with users of RTX3 series cards and the cards spiking randomly and cutting the PSU out. My new...

Power supplies, single and multi-rail and high wattage GPU

Just popping back in to say the new PSU fixed the random shut-offs, been going strong with multi-rail set for 6 days with zero incidents, whereas before I'd have numerous daily shut-offs! Huzzah!

Power supplies, single and multi-rail and high wattage GPU

Yeah, I'm new to it, the manual seems to indicate this is the case, I'm going to be brave and give it a go, what could possibly go wrong... :P

Power supplies, single and multi-rail and high wattage GPU

Oddly, the PSU manual gives next to no information about what the single/multi option does but based on the reply below it would make sense. As the GPU has 2 cables, and therefore 2 connection ports, each one would be 40A so effectively 80A (depending on how power is distributed on the card...

Power supplies, single and multi-rail and high wattage GPU

Ok. After some recent discussion and disappointing info around certain brands of PSU, I pulled the trigger on the Corsair HX1000, which arrived today. For the first time, I was provided with a single/dual rail option which, after doing some reading, basically either gives me the full ampage...

    850w fully modular gold?

Apologies if I came across terse, I'm still kinda bitter about having to shell out when I should have a perfectly useable PSU. It's £200 I really didn't want to have to part with but when you need a stable PC for working (and gaming) from home it's annoying to shell out based on what appears to...

    850w fully modular gold?

Did you actually read what I posted? They are NOT stable and are in fact crapping out at well UNDER their rated maximum capacities on the FOCUS ranges!!! With an RTX3080 they will RANDOMLY power down shut-off due to "overloading" the OPC at around 600W of load! Hardly stable for an 850W PSU...

    850w fully modular gold?

    No, Focus Gold Plus, sadly.

    850w fully modular gold?

Well, my PSU is only around 12-18 months old and seems to be affected, perhaps I was unlucky and got the last of a bad bunch. If this is the case then it re-opens my choices for high-end PSU as Seasojnic do have a rep as high-end

    850w fully modular gold?

I recently discoved this was my issue with random power off's, Seasonic Focus PSU's don't handle the power jumps from the RTX3 series cards, however after some digging I'm reluctant to go for another Seasonic as they're washing their hands of the fact their suipposed top end PSU's rated at 850W+...

Kolink Citadel RGB and Kolink Umbra fan connections

FTI, these do work but require an adaptor that you can get online. Looks pretty sweet with all the fans synced :)

Kolink Citadel RGB and Kolink Umbra fan connections

Short and sweet, anyone used this combo and if so how did you wire trhe RGB for the additional fans? Connectors appear to be totally different, I'd even asked OcUk tech to ensure compatability and they said it'll work, question is.... How? Anyone out there used this setup and got it working...

USB C power passthrough not working

You've kind of answered your own question here I'm afraid... It worked before the firmware update, and doesn't work after, firmware the issue????
