    Samsung G9 and G7 49” DQHD; 5120×1440, 240Hz...

I hope DP 2.0 will finally come to fruition in this monitor, as well. But it would just be DSC, probably. Or, maybe, Samsung engineers found a way to implement adaptive sync through a couple of DP 1.4 ports.

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

38GL950G already has G-Sync. Do you mean that 38GN950 will also have G-Sync module, but with VRR and Adaptive-Sync support? And the preliminary data says that it will have 160 Hz max refresh rate (native). But I could be wrong interpreting info from LG's press release.

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

So, if the info regarding 38WN95C is correct, LG is capping it (max refresh rate = 144 Hz) to restrain the competition with 38GL950G instead of just making the best product they can and competing with other companies on the market. There is some logic in that, I think.

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

Why would you possibly want that if there is cheaper G-Sync compatible LG C9 with HDMI 2.1 and some HDR capabilities as well?

    LG 38GL950G - 3840x1600/G-Sync/144Hz

175 hz refresh rate capability doesn't take anything away from this monitor (as well as completely unusable 'faster' response time mode). But, it is a mystery for me, why the most of the monitors only have standard maximum refresh rate tier like 144 hz and the OC tier (175 hz for this model)...

Yes, I beleive so. The certain North American shop expects its availability on Oct 29, 2019. And RTINGS.com reside in North America.

Samsung 49'' inch monitor (CRG9) release date 22 April and cost about 1.400£

Running 5120x1440 resolution at 120 Hz with 10 bpc (without compression, CVT-R2) requires 28.55 Gbit/s bandwidth. And DP 1.4 can only provide 25.92 Gbit/s.

    Asus PA32UCG - 32" 4K 120Hz VRR HDR-1400

The specs (on asus.com) say 48-120 Hz VRR for game developement (the next gen gaming consoles, presumably). So, it will, probably, be one of the first PC monitors with HDMI 2.1 ports.
