    Been Offered Some Part Worns....

This makes no sense to me. Surely its the same thing? Agreed, just like the tyres when buying a used car. You don't know the history. You can inspect part worns too. I think its very unlikely that anyone would discuss tyre history as part of a purchase - who has? And this would only...

    Been Offered Some Part Worns....

I understand the feeling that part worn tyres are a risk, and that makes complete sense as the history is not known etc. But, a question for those who say they would never touch them - when you bought your last used car, did you immediately change all four tyres?

First test / review: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2

I have had some fitted from Blackcircles. £110 each in 225/45/17. Very impressed so far. They replaced CS3's.

Awesome car. Just needs the decals taking off, new wheels and a respray.

    Continental SportContact 5.

I have just replaced my CS3's with F1 Asymmetric 2's. Blackcircles had them £15 per tyre cheaper than the CS3's so I thought I'd try them. Initial impressions are very good, but they were only fitted on friday so still a little too new to tell - they've not seen any wet weather yet. Similar...

    Golf V5: thoughts?

My experience varies greatly from this. Original MAF No idea what chain slap is, but not experienced it yet. 1 coil pack in 190k miles Can an average of 34mpg really be described as thirsty for a 2.3L 170bhp 5 cylinder engine? I consider it to be very good. Service intervals are 10k...

    Golf V5: thoughts?

Can't comment on the Golf, but I can on the engine. Early V5's were 150bhp, late 2001 onwards were 170bhp. Great noise and much smoother than a 4 cylinder. I manage an average 34mpg and I enjoy its performance. Mine is in a Seat though, but the engine is great. It is chain driven and mine...

It looks like BMW are asking them too... http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/255127/bmw_confirms_fourdoor_cls_rival.html "It’s rare for BMW to be caught napping. But the German firm has only just given the green light to its stunning four-door Gran Coupe, which will take aim at...

    Which "Hot Hatch"?

The Leon is a sea of bad plastic, and it's value plummets very quickly. Better bought 2nd hand. Civic has a very poor ride and you may find revving the thing to 8k to get the performance a bit tiresome after a while. The Scirocco will have the best residuals, especially if you find yourself...

Will I notice a big difference in MPG?

Average will be about 27-28. I would recommend super unleaded as mine ran much smoother on that, and I noticed a slight increase in MPG (approx 29).

    No escaping the Speedies! ?

I guess GPS is on the camera units so they can be picked up and put anywhere, with the GPS units working out the distance between them (assuming a straight road)?

    New car choice...BMW/MB

Sorry, I can't agree. To me it looks like the styling was the last thing they did, and in a hurry. The interior is nice though.
