If Zotac and Gigabyte suddenly switch to a mixed design it's pretty much admitting there was an issue even if it is just for appearance. Will that mean they then do product recall for already sold cards or will we have less desirable revision 1's etc. It's quite a difficult decision.

I wonder if the damage is already done. Even if the cards are fine the perception that MLCC is better might convince manufacturers to switch their designs even if it's not necessary or advantageous. We might even end up with inferior MLCC setups being used with cheaper caps or too many MLCC...

The 3080 Gaming OC has a 360 watt power limit it probably will be as easy as flashing that BIOS in the future. The PCB is more or less identical apart from the missing dual BIOS circuitry.

In that thread they seem to have mixed up the the SP-CAPS there is no 370µF. There appears to be three types being used 470µF as used on the Gigabyte. 330µF as used on the Zotac and 220µF as used on the EVGA before it was reworked. Buildzoid did state 470µF is better than 330µF which implies...

My guess is the 300 watts. That implies that AMD are raising the TDP to compete.

I agree we need more information I was just pointing out that the EVGA statement doesn't necessarily apply to the Gigabyte or other models arrangement because they are not even the same SP-Caps. There is also no evidence at the moment that an all MLCC setup as used on the TUF is any better than...

Going to keep my pre-order. More likely to cancel because of the AMD cards than because of higher VRAM Nvidia cards if it takes that long. I feel the 16GB 3070 is going to be too close in price to a 10GB 3080 and will be quite a lot slower so a bad choice. The 3080 20GB will be good for some...
