    Power line to WiFi extender

Smashing, thanks all - I'll look into the suggestions above. Definitely after an AP.

    Power line to WiFi extender

Thanks @Avalon - nothing knocking around unfortunately so will need to pick something up. What actually qualifies as an access point? Does it need to be an extender / repeater type thing?

    Power line to WiFi extender

Hi all - forgive me if this has been asked before ad infinitum, but I still can't find a simple yes/no answer to what I'm looking for. In short, the router in our flat has to go right in the very corner of our bedroom, about the worst location possible. We can't change that. The WiFi signal is...

Wifi antenna for Gigabyte Aorus B450 I Pro system

Ta. So is there any real benefit to different antennas? Is there anything to look out for in terms of performance, pick up, banding, or anything like that? I know location, etc, is everything, but I would just like to have something fixed rather than something that dangles off / is loose.

Wifi antenna for Gigabyte Aorus B450 I Pro system

Morning all. Just getting my OcUK desktop up and running again after a bit of a hiatus. Can't wait to actually get stuck into some gaming again, here and there. The one thing though with the system that has always bugged me is the wifi antenna though. It came with the unit/motherboard and...

    DELL S2719DGF Owners Thread

Just to throw my oar in, I recently got the AGON AG271QX and I absolutely love it. I can’t speak for it vs the Dell, but it is a terrific monitor. Specwise, it’s fairly neck and neck with the Dell, albeit offering (I think) a lower Freesync range (30hz upwards). The build quality is immense, the...

    DELL S2719DGF Owners Thread

Got my AG271QX yesterday. It love it. From the front, it’s not ostentatious at all, despite the gaming motifs on the back. Tge stand weighs a tone and is sturdy as hell. The screen feels so secure - the height adjust, rotate and tilt feel rock solid. As for the performance, I’m running it 1440p...

Best cooler for Dan Cases A4-SFX

Yeah, I've heard about the Noctua fan hack. Something to consider. It's my fault for failing to research the 1cm different between the Noctua fan and the C7. The C7 really is flush up against the case. For now though, I've got the fans under control for basic usage - and I was pleasantly...

Best cooler for Dan Cases A4-SFX

The system was built by OcUK, not me. I'm therefore assuming it was done properly :D. I haven't actually tested it under load as again, I don't really know the best way because I've not really done any benchmarking, etc, for a long, long time. I looked into Speedfan but as you say, its pretty...

Best cooler for Dan Cases A4-SFX

Hello again all. Got my system, very pleased, etc. The C7 though is loud and it is flush against the casing (yes, I know, I knew things would be tight in the Dan case). My CPU seems to fluctuate around the 36C to 42C mark idle, this is making the fan spin up and down a fair bit do I’m looking...

    **THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Thanks @Kelt. I know this sounds so basic but is that as simple as heading to Nvidia, getting the drivers and installing them? I don't need to disable Windows Update or anything? Does Windows still overwrite drivers with its own best guest even if installed manually? Also, what's the wisdom on...

    **THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Hi all. Couple of questions - I'll be doing a first time set up on my new PC tomorrow, first time in ages. I've got a GTX 1070 so I'll be needing Nvidia drivers. Am I best letting Windows do my drivers, or do it direct from Nvidia? I remember Windows 7 being a bitch and installing crappy stock...

First Windows 10 clean install in years...

Hello all. I’ll be receiving my new system from OcUK at the weekend (:D). Much excitement. That said, I’ll be doing the full setup myself, ofc. Now, I have 20 years experience fiddling with Windows machines - but the last 5/6 years, I’ve been almost exclusively on Mac. So, I just wanted to...

Best cooler for Dan Cases A4-SFX

Thanks @doyll. I’m going to go C7 and see what it’s like. It won’t cost much to switch if I fancy it further down the line.

Best cooler for Dan Cases A4-SFX

Yup, that’s what I spotted when I looked at the l9a on OcUK. So in fairly simple terms, it boils down to slightly better cooling but more noise with the C7 and vice versa with the l9a. And the sweet spot likely a Noctua fan bodged onto the C7.

Derp, that makes sense :D. Thanks.

Best cooler for Dan Cases A4-SFX

Btw, there are two versions of the low-profile Noctua - the L9a and the L9i. So far as I can deduce, the L9a is an updated version for AM4 boards / CPUs. Is that right? In short, if I went for the Noctua, which one should I get?

Best cooler for Dan Cases A4-SFX

Thanks @Distracted, really appreciate the insight. I’m a techie at heart so I’ve been enjoyed getting back into PC tech in the last few weeks. Ta @doyll too, food for thought. I’m not in deep enough to go modding coolers if I’m honest. It’s going to have to be a straight call between the...

Best cooler for Dan Cases A4-SFX

Okay, is that some kind of quality control measure then? I.e. the 'better' / more expensive the chip, the higher grade (?) of silicon used? Re the C7, I'll do that. I know there's not masses of choice when it comes to low profile coolers, but is it worth considering any others like the Noctua ones?
