    Require help with my setup

@Danny75 Sorry for the late reply, I was away for a week & couldn't respond. I've not checked whether or not my PSU has a single rail or is a multi-rail yet, nor have I done the cable thing. I have managed to fish out the PSU that I have though. See link below...

@Danny75 My CPU's base is 4.0. Freddie (from this conversation) has his at 4.7 according to his signature. According to GPU-Z, I have: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/asus-rog-strix-gtx-1080-gaming-advanced.b3874 What will connecting two different cables do? At this point, I'm just...

@Danny75 I'm planning on getting an ultrawide 2k resolution monitor very soon so, do you think this will tank my pc too much? I'm going to get another motherboard so I can overclock my cpu, can I do the same for my GPU to?

@Danny75 I ran the benchmark, results are below. Before the benchmark, it was running "@ 16x 2.0".

@Danny75 The leaderboard shows my 1080 as being at the bottom of the list in terms of 1080s. Don't forget that I got that score at 1050p and not 1080p so chances are it would be even lower if I had a 1080p monitor.

@Danny75 Ah. Suppose I will need a new motherboard after all as I want to overclock it. What's the point in having a k model if I don't overclock? I ran the benchmark at the same specs as you and got the following result. I was getting around 115 - 130 for the cinematic day time scenes and...

    Require help with my setup

@Danny75 I plan to overclock my CPU. Might as well get water-cooling as it looks nice and is quieter than a fan. I just finished testing on GTA and can confirm an increase from my previous FPS: Old City: 50 Rural: 70 New City: 60-70 Rural: 80-95 However, (again) from your screenshots, you...

    Require help with my setup

@Danny75 I opened msconfig to test a small theory I had, I unticked the box to choose the number of cores to boot with (which was showing 1-3) and decided to restart my pc. When reopening msconfig, I found that I had the option to choose from 1-8 cores, I also found 8 graphs in task manager...

    Require help with my setup

@Danny75 Sorry for the late reply, had work all weekend so didn't want to start anything until I had the time. I've downloaded both HWiNFO64 & Cinebench R20 and the following images are the results of the first test I ran. If you notice all of the red boxes on the images provided, I...

@EsaT @freddie64 It only shows 4 graphs on the task manager. I've checked in the BIOS and Hyper Threading is set to "Enabled" @Danny75 I've checked the Windows Power Plan, and to my surprise, it was set to "Power Saver" so I've changed it to "High Performance". I copied your graphics...

    Require help with my setup

@EsaT I appreciate your support! I can see the 4 graphs within task manager (as shown in the image) but I'm not sure how to get those 8 you were talking about. I've not noticed drops in the CPU's clock speed that much. Only between 10-30 Mhz every now and then. How can I tell if there is a...

    Require help with my setup

Hello! I need some help as I'm trying to figure out why my computer doesn't perform as well as I think it should do. Ever since I've built my setup, I've never managed to get the same levels of performance compared with those seen on benchmarks. I've got GTA V on steam and when playing it, I...
