    When to change PSU?

What the duce is a RAM power cable? That PSU is insane. Yes, an upgrade is probably a good idea for compatibility reasons.

Is 450W enough for my build?

It would be at near max capacity already, meaning you would have limited choices for any future upgrade. In short, no, I would go for an 850W to give yourself headroom for the GPU upgrade.

With AM5 + Zen 4 coming in H2 2022, is anyone still planning to build an Alder Lake system?

I'm planning on Alder Lake or Zen 3D. I firmly believe pricing for AM5 +DDR5 + Zen 4 is going to be extremely high. Moreover, I can reuse my DDR4 with Alder lake, doubt the same can be said for AMD. Wait until 2023 -2024 for a DDR5 build.

    New build alderlake - airflow

In terms of cases I recommend: Low End: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phanteks-eclipse-p300-air-midi-tower-case-black-window-ca-09y-pt.html Otherwise if you're liking the Lian-Li look, I recommend...

    Intel A380 leaked

Hopefully this will be priced to slay the 1050 ti and make the GT 1030 / 730 pointlessly overpriced.

Contemplating switch from Ryzen - Intel

How high is your refresh rate? my 1600x can just about keep up with a 3440x1440p 120 hertz monitor, unless you're at super crazy high refresh rates like 2560x1440 240 hertz, I doubt it would make any difference going up to Alder lake. The reason I can see for upgrading would be productivity...

    **THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I've had this issue for ages: Open Issues in Version 497.09 WHQL In multi-monitor configurations, the screen may display random black screen flicker. [340522] For some reason it's fixed for me in this patch, it's been bothering me for some time. Hopefully it doesn't return.

Air in = Air out, why bother with cable management?

Dude, Throughput; Through-put. The better your airflow the more air in and air out per minute.

Anyone pre ordered 12600k and z690 board yet?

I'm likely going to get a 12700K or F, I've got some decent ddr4 already, but won't buy at this point. I'll probably buy in around the end of November, unless the launch is a er... show of sorts. As per above I also want to know the power of DDR5, nobodies really sure how that's going to play...

Should Intel offer cost down embedded desktops.

They already have a line of SOC parts for their pro-sumer lineup, Xeon-D. They've never been very popular but have existed for some time, last refreshed in 2019. You could defiantly use them as a desktop. I was trying to get one for my home lab until I just gave up and used a 3700x instead...

    Spec me a commuting umbrella

Blunt Classic is the best, no doubt. I've had one for years, the things are nigh indestructible. Good coverage too, as well as coming in multiple sizes. Anything else you'll buy won't last in strong winds, which tends to be exactly the kind of time (I at least) end up needing a good brolly...

    Computer networking undergraduate project ideas

Depends on what sort kind of thing you're doing. I personally like load balanced, hypervisor based horizontal scaling web deployments - not sure if that's appropriate or not on your course though. You could also see if you can do a modern version of this mad-lad's system. The trolling based...

    Is this a stupid idea?

I wouldn't use a Mac mini as either a daily driver or a server (had terrible experiences with Mac mini servers in the past), but still think you're much better off the way you are. Server hardware tends to not need to be so strong compared to desktop when in the home. Servers tend to be...
