What have you done to your car today?

Around £100 less for me - National were doing a 20% online offer, so 4 tyres cost only £447 fitted.

What have you done to your car today?

https://photos.app.goo.gl/7wYCc1etrNpn8fid7 https://photos.app.goo.gl/KHpHnU3pdjESxFAQ8 Recently bought new wheels for the STI - had custom centre caps made (£20 ebay), and now just had new Good Year F1 Assymetric 6 fitted. I'm a long term fan of Michelin and formerly the PS range were far...

    Your bad driving encounters

That depends whether you are now conflating a driver who safely overtakes other drivers with a behavioural marker that they don't care about anyone else? That'd be so closed-minded, would it not? And we're back to square one. Just because you personally dislike another driver's driving, that...

    Your bad driving encounters

The problem lies within the apparent link that one has prescribed that cocksure also ALWAYS includes being an idiot. Therein lies the original point I was making. Being cocksure does not definitively categorise the person (driver) as also being an idiot. I have seen many sports champions...

    Car Change...

Sadly, obsolescence is engineered-in with modern vehicles. Stuff WILL go wrong. It's designed to do so...

    Your bad driving encounters

I think you are too narrow in your definition of cocksure. Cocksure also includes anyone who is very very competent and just knows it and shows off. Olympic champion can be cocksure - I'm pretty sure that you can see this in point. So no, is STILL disagree the original post that conflated...

    Still wearing the Timewalker

    What watch do you wear?

Can someone please help - how do I insert images from either dropbox or Amazon Photos - I just can't get it to work?

    Your bad driving encounters

Yes, I acknowledge that I *can* be a little bit - it'd be hypocritical of me to claim otherwise while at the same time schooling everyone else on driving capabilities in a thread about driving standards. And there are levels of cocksuredness for sure... I wonder whether you realise how what...

    Your bad driving encounters

I confess to being a little confused now. Why do you ask how long I've been driving for? It was obviously a question that was important enough for to you ask for some reason.. ! Just feels like you were Vetting my experience for a particular motive or agenda.

35 years. Why? Is that relevant? Is it your barometer to not take an evidence based opinion on its own merit and instead gauge the info on the person delivering it?

    What watch do you wear?

I keep finding it difficult to choose to wear anything other than my Montblanc Timewalker GMT, despite having quite a few other timepieces vying for wrist time, including Omega X-33 Mars, Tag Heuer Carrera chrono, a latest Tag Connected, 1971 Smiths dive style, couple of RAF G10 chrono's...

    Your bad driving encounters

It is indeed. Although it isn't in legislation. There's literally nobody else that I encounter that abides by that Highway Code suggestion though...

    Your bad driving encounters

LOL. Lets take that mindset to it's logical conclusion. Are you advocating that the vehicles sitting at the "Give Way" sign ought to be given right of way by you slowing down for them even though you have the rules based right of way?

    Your bad driving encounters

Still so much to unpack in this thread. Has anyone ever seen Ashley Neal on YouTube? It could easily be said of Ashley that he is "cocksure" of himself. Clearly, however, he is not an idiot driver by any measure of the word. This is why I take exception and offence to anyone conflating the...

    Your bad driving encounters

Disagree. This is the logical conclusion of the whole "fast is unsafe" message being foisted upon us all by "safety groups" (and some in this thread, I'll wager, who have been hoodwinked into believing it...). Common understanding of "speed" is that 60mph is "fast" and by simple idiotic analogy...

    Your bad driving encounters

My golden rule is to never manoeuvre if doing so causes another vehicle to change speed or direction. It is infuriating when other drivers do not follow this simple concept.
  18. RampantMark

    Your bad driving encounters

Absolutely spot on. Taking human nature into account - if you're not being "aroused" to concentrate whilst driving, this is when complacency creeps in and why in many instances driving a little faster can aid to keep concentration levels higher.

    Your bad driving encounters

No, I personally don't. However it is *objectively* true that legacy roads that used to have a derestricted (60) limit and have been later assigned a new 50mph limit have not been made more safe in doing so.

    Your bad driving encounters

You're conflating nervous with competent and conflating confident with being a bad driver. This tells its own story. Yes, I agree with you that there are many many idiots on the road, but I probably disagree with you about many things driving. I'm may even be one of the drivers that you might...
