There's a good post on fitting the straps to the STriple seat here: http://www.street-triple.co.uk/index.php/topic,19054.msg232628.html#msg232628. Was thinking of the same for mine.
I'm tending to agree with this. It was something that worried me (I remember being very sensitive to the difference between 60Hz and 75Hz refresh rates on CRTs and wondered whether the same would apply to PWM) but I don't notice it at all with the brightness set to 27. Obviously everybody's eyes...
I'm sure I used to come up against you in wfs though you probably wouldn't have noticed me :( Main was KillerTomato, rogue Defiant on Bloodiron. Haven't played in ages but the comments about the new expansion seem to be mostly positive. Hmmmm, to resub or not...
If anyone has a high ASIC Lightning that clocks well on air but would like a low one to clock under water, I might be persuaded to swap with them then :p
The nice thing about using a home made shroud is that it pushed the fan further away from the rear grill which reduces noise. I did the same on the front one rather than snipping away the front grill like others have done and that helped a lot with the fan noise too. Snipping away the grill...
I like quiet so I overclocked to a fan profile of 46%. That gives me 1175 core and 1775 mem on 1.23v stable at around 65C core temp in Heaven, and around 55C in EvE which is what I'm mostly playing at the moment. Fairly happy with that.
I may have to claim a record for the worst ASIC ever...
Wow 1.22v is really low. I need 1.34 to be stable at 4.6. IBT on maximum and 10+ runs to test stability. Anything less than maximum isn't really going to prove anything.
Grab one of these while they're cheap: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-043-AS
I've just upgraded my trusty FP241W to one and I really couldn't be happier with it - the extra real estate and light AG coating combined with decent input lag and the current price are making...
I made a shroud for the rear fan out of an old 120mm frame and mounted the TY 140mm on that. It pushes it back further into the case and stops it fouling that little ridge on the case side. Without it, even with the flat part of the frame facing the case side, the side is pushed out a little...
True (that's a cracking price btw) but it wasn't available at that price when I placed the order and now that I've got a decent one I'm keeping hold of it :)
Got mine yesterday (sorry OcUK - it was significantly cheaper elsewhere) and am really happy. No dead/bright/stuck pixels, no significant BLB that I can see and I don't notice any PWM flicker at 27 brightness (tftcentral settings and icc profile with minor adjustments). Couldn't be happier to be...
