    New York Trip

For food, there is a lot of hype around New York food and quite a lot of it isn’t that good I’ve found. However I really like the cookies from Levain Bakery and tacos from Los Tacos No1 (very close to Time Square).

    Lotus Emira Discussion

Went for a test drive yesterday in Eastleigh - if you know the area they take you towards Hursley so a good route to enjoy the car. Very impressed, sport suspension was a touch harsh for me but not unbearable - I think tour is the right choice personally. Really loved the gearbox, short throw...

    Removing kitchen tap flexi?

So it was on pretty tight - had to use mini vice-grips to gradually pull and twist it until I got the pipe off, leaving just the fitting. Then I could get my tap spanner on the end and undo it. Made much harder by there being so little space - 4 ends because it is a boiling water tap, so hot...

    Removing kitchen tap flexi?

It seems to be much tighter than that - the flexi just collapses if you try and twist it, pliers on the top of the fixing gives me almost no purchase but also doesn’t shift it at all

    Removing kitchen tap flexi?

Anyone know how to get the flexible hoses off a kitchen tap? One has a split in so need to replace it but cannot figure out how to remove it from the tap end. Bad picture, there are four flexi a pipes in there, so basically no room to get anything in! Thanks

    OcUK Dadsnet thread

I’m the same and it was really tough for the first 12-18 months really, baby preferred Mum (of course, that makes sense) but really didn’t like me, wouldn’t settle for me at all etc. Felt like I had failed and was a terrible Dad for not feeling like I loved her. It has gotten better over time...

Tuneable white ceiling lights for study

I currently have a hue bulb in the bulb holder, it’s not enough light by a long way sadly! The main thing I worry about with the Hue products is that they all use GU10 bulbs - I worry about cooling with those, unless things have improved a lot in the last few years LED GU10s always just died on...

Tuneable white ceiling lights for study

Hi, Finally getting around to sorting the lighting in my home office! Currently it’s just a bare bulb which is pretty much useless. Ideally I want bright, evenly diffused lighting where the colour temperature can be controlled so it’s a nice cool white during the day and a warmer white when...

CCT LED - Variable white not RGB recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations for high quality bright variable colour temperature LED strips? Searching just gives me RGB-WW or RGB-CCT strips - I’ve no interest in colours only variable white colour temp and having seen how much quality varies am trying to find recommendations first...

    The Tesla Thread

Dropped the car in today to have a few delivery issues fixed (including fitting of homelink) Quite a slick process, they take photos of everything as they check it in which is reassuring. One thing is there is no option to request a courtesy car, so I presumed they did it automatically - you...

    Monzo/Starling Banking/Revolut

Starling and Monzo use MasterCard spot rate (very close to the interbank rate). Revolut do it themselves and so can offer whatever rate they want - used to be (and I presume still is) the interbank rate so marginally better most of the time.

Ah! I’d been trying to figure out why that was happening, AP would only disengage 2/3rds of the time and it was quite annoying. I’ve done a few long journeys and for the most part AP is great, except the jerkyness - the steering part is rock solid. I’ve found that phantom breaking is often...

Zero power despite good PSU - occasionally works

Hmm, so I jumped the power supply with it plugged into the motherboard (probably a terrible idea, but what have I got to loose!) and the board shows signs of life, leds are on, cpu fan spins etc. No POST beeps of any kind, which isn’t surprising

Zero power despite good PSU - occasionally works

Hi, Got a weird problem, I suspect the motherboard is done, but wondering if anyone has any last things to try. System does not power on, no leds on the motherboard at all - seems like a dead PSU. Except: * Power supply turns on when shorted using a paper clip * After dragging the machine...

Sadly now that I've charged overnight the trip view has reset, so I only have the last 30 miles which is all fast single carriageway A road including a few roundabouts and 3 overtakes - 261 watt/mile average and estimated 261 mile range. To be honest considering the road and nearly 600 watt...

Congrats - hope you are enjoying it! Did my first longer trip (~250 mile round trip) yesterday - car was very good. Autopilot on the motorway is rock solid, keeps you in the middle of your lane and basically turns it into a straight road. Found I arrived feeling less tired that I normally...

They phoned and gave me a reg two days before - never had or signed any contracts but I wasn't doing PCP. When the guy phoned he was surprised that I didn't have a reg yet so might be worth a phone call. Lastly - you can insure using the VIN only you just have to phone your insurance company

Before collection it was going to be one of the first things I did, but so far I don't mind them - time will tell. It's nice to have the option of changing the look of the wheels
