Do you mean that we should measure the actual usage to determine if vram is enough?

They do memory compression all the time, afaik, dlss reduces vram usage by 1gb+ in most cases depending on the preset you use, on quality mode it seems to be 1gb and performance dlss reduces by 1gb-1.5gb

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense actually and explains what is actually happening there. And it also explains why 4gb vram lasted around 5 years... People in 2015 were saying 4gb won't last even 2 years... but at 1080p it lasted until 2020 only now we are seeing games that use more than 4 gigs...
