Just thought I'd post that I got round the issue by turning the onboard LAN controller off when I had the wireless enabled, think this freed up the required lane(s) so that I could have the wireless on and maintain x8/x8 for the two Ti's and the NVME in M1 at x4.

Have a CH7H wifi with a 2700x, 1080Ti SLI, GSkill 3200 CL14 @ 3466 with the B Die timings, a 970pro NVME in M2_1 and a 2TB SSD. The issue I'm having is that I set the new rig up all fine both Ti's at x8 (as I'm not using M2_2) and ran all my usual memory/cpu/gpu stress tests with no issue...

I've read that the Intel CEO now only owns the absolute minimum of Intel stock he contractually has to own and sold the rest off last year (looks like Google found the issue in June 17) ? I would think that Google would let the affected parties know pretty quickly after discovering the issue.

I have my 3930K at 4.8GHz on a RIVE so you should have some headroom dependant on cooling.

I it was me I'd get the spec for a new rig but then just buy the PSU first and try that in the old rig to see if it was just a dead PSU. This would give you more options on the upgrade as you'll know what works and what doesn't and you've lost nothing as the you would have bought the new PSU...

Thanks for the info, very informative, I've not been up to date on hardware since I put my last rig together but since getting the Rift I'd like to get a new system. I've been reading up more on Ryzen and the gains with having faster DDR4 and that Samsung IC's seem to be the ones to go for.

I've got a trusty 3930K @ 5GHz but really old graphics, was looking at a 1700 non x and a 1080Ti but thought it would be worth checking out the 8700K. My issue is I'm running 7830x1440 so will be looking at SLi maybe and also what I might gain with higher CPU clocks of Intel over AMD

Had a British Gas one for a while and no issues at all. Spent a bit of time on the first day turning everything off, then hunting round for what was still on, then turning things on one at a time so you could see how much power they used. Was a bit of an eye opener seeing what power things used...

Depends which servers you're on, I moved to Gladden with the consolidations and it's fine. Brandy and Arken are the busiest I think and a lot of the guys from Russia/Eastern Europe moved to them when their servers closed.

Had mine for years on a Rampage IV @ 5GHz (WC), have seen nothing that has made me thinking of an upgrade yet. It's been my longest serving platform to date, just looking at GPU upgrades.

I can understand them using the fastest available card but with Vega being sooo close you'd think they'd use there own card.

Are the rear clusters on multiplugs ? If so check that they are fully connected and look okay. The warning messages may be linked to a voltage drop caused by poor connections ?

I've added more ram and my next upgrade will be to add a couple more drive bays (Dell KC230's).

When I had to do this I tried to work it out but ended up getting some cardboard and making a rough box of about the right size. Really helps to visualise what will/will not fit.
